Am having a party next Sat - about 80 or so people coming and it's aid of me (originally to fund herceptin, but now that we know that i'm getting it courtesy of the NHS, funds will go to the breast unit at my local hospital). So I need to feel great and I want to get a new dress. I know it's late but I've just had chemo and dd was ill prior to that, so here I am.
Have found dress on Monsoon site and would appreciate opinions....dress is called: Georgia Ivory Silk Linen Embroidered Dress (links don't seem to work from that site..). I'm 5 ft 9, size 14, large breastage area, with hips in proportion to chest (read that as 'curvy'). Also, what do I wear on my legs/feet??

Beautiful dress!!!

Have you got any ivory shoes or dressy sandals?

dyzzidi · 17/02/2006 16:51

Oh thats lovely I would buy either brown or black strappy sandals dependant on colour of embroidery and maybe a plush wrap.

the dress is really lovely!
but £100????
it's a lot of money... do you think you'll wear it a lot?

Where do you live lalaa? In our local shopping centre (I'm in Kent) Monsoon have rented an empty shop to sell all their sale stuff at up to 70% off. It's there until the end of March and they have a load of gorgeous dresses.

Couldn't get a dress on the link though.

I'm just outside Bath so Kent out of the question, particularly whilst feeling ropey after chemo. But thanks anyway.
£100 is a lot of money but it's a very special occasion and I'll make sure I'll wear it again! Strappy ivory shoes - are they around at this time of year??

Sorry lalaa - didn't read your initial post properly - didn't realise what it was for. That is a very important occasion and I'm sure you'll find the perfect outfit and it'd be £100 well spent. You deserve it after all you've been through.

Also seen the dress now - it's lovely.
