Is 40 too old for this dress?

This one

I'm a size 12 with a slim figure, a high, round bottom and 5 ft 7 but I AM nearly 40 and I don't want to look like mutton.

If you think this will look dodgy, please link me to a suitable dress for a very important party. Help!

Sadly your link brings up a whole page of dresses....which one?

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/05/2012 20:27

Which one?

Steth · 18/05/2012 20:28

Hi Madinitials which one is it? It brings up a whole page on your link :-)

hmc · 18/05/2012 20:29

Doesn't matter which one - you could wear any if them. You are 40 not 400

BIWItheBold · 18/05/2012 20:30

You wear what suits you and what you like. Stop worrying about your age.

CockBollocks · 18/05/2012 20:32

oh dear, you've got me looking at the Ted Baker website again - I love the clothes on there!!

Which one?

Madinitials · 18/05/2012 20:32

Oh sorry, it does not seem to have it's own link. It's called Foxbery in yellow.

Thanks hmc!

You can wear any of those dresses. Ted baker don't make mutton clothes. Good taste by the way. :)

supernannyisace · 18/05/2012 20:38

It's a cracking dress.

If you have the figure for it - then yes.

I would wear it - and I am a tad older than you. Grin

chocoroo · 18/05/2012 20:38

Ted Baker use lovely fabrics IMO. I'm not keen on the dress myself but I'm not a yellow person!

I tried a bunch of Ted Baker dresses on at the weekend and the sizes were generous, I was pleasantly surprised.

Bunbaker · 18/05/2012 20:42

Love the style, loathe the colour. But yellow doesn't suit me, so I am biased. If you have the figure for it then buy it. The dress suits a certain figure not a certain age.

orienteerer · 18/05/2012 20:46

Style yes, but the colour would not be my choice.

drywhiteplease · 18/05/2012 20:48

What is your colouring like? Yellow is a hard colour for pasty brits of the corned beef leg(moi) to pull off. If you have lovely olive skin and dark hair/eyes I think you would look stunning! ( I also hate you!!)Grin

Madinitials · 18/05/2012 20:57

Drywhite I am dark skinned/hair & eyes but as Prince Wills might say, don't hate the player, hate the game. I do, however, look naked in many shades of brown so there you go!

drywhiteplease · 18/05/2012 21:06

Well madinitials in that case you should get the dress.....I am older (a leeeeeetle bit) and its just a stupid number......you have the figure and the colour will suit your colouring and yellow is so now, go for it!

drywhiteplease · 18/05/2012 21:07

P.s I look naked in very pale blue and nude tones make me look like a dead body!!! Grin

Molesworthiscool · 18/05/2012 21:14

I,too, am not a lover of yellow. However, if the dress was in another colour I might well wear it. I am much older than you...

LukeWarmMomma · 19/05/2012 12:43

No, you are too old, you need something in polyester floral!! Only joking you are not too old, it's lovely. Buy it, wear it and enjoy it Smile

BIWItheBold · 19/05/2012 12:55

Get thee to Marks & Spencer Classics...

(Lovely dress - go for it)

Spookey80 · 19/05/2012 14:42

You can wear whatever you like. 40 is young! Whatever makes you feel good.

PooPooInMyToes · 19/05/2012 16:36

Wow love the colour!

Madinitials · 19/05/2012 22:08

Thanks for your replies, I have now ordered it!
