I need help!

I am going to a wedding in a couple of weeks where I will be 14+5 weeks pregnant. Do I get a maternity dress and if so where from? I have what looks like a small beer belly now but I'm not sure how that will change, I don't want to wear a fitted dress that accentuates my belly but would love to if I had an actual bump.

If you have any recommendations that would be great of maternity or non-maternity clothes. I would love a green or red dress and knee length, I'm 5"11 a size 10 on top 12 on bottom pre-pregnancy. I would also like to wear black shoes, bag, shrug and spangly headband all of which I have.

Budget - around £300 or less if possible.

I found ASOS invaluable for formal dresses when I was pregnant. Their maternity range is much better than their normal stuff IMO. (But then, I'm never going to be a body-con-slashed-to-the-thigh girl and that's what most of their normal dresses look like to me!)

Kaloo I found the formal dresses on asos to be mostly chiffon or too short for me :( I agree their maternity range is really quite good though.

This is my favourite dress so far but unfortunately way too far out of my price range.

I would recommend Tiffany Rose, they have a lovely selection of special occasion maternity dresses and their prices aren't bad either Smile

Crikey that's gorgeous! I suppose you could either buy something you like for non-pregnant times too as you might be able to buy your normal size, or you could buy something that's actually maternity wear with a view to wearing it throughout your pregnancy but not afterwards. I'd go for the latter because you don't know what size you'll be after you've had the baby and how long it'll be before you're back to your normal size. That's the premise I worked on, and I also didn't want to spend much because I knew anything I bought was only for a few months.

I bought something a bit like this which worked for weddings I went to when 3 and 8 months pregnant:

www.asos.com/ASOS-Maternity/ASOS-Maternity-Dress-With-Ruffle-Sleeve/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1898517&cid=5813&Rf900=1465&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=Woodrose

I also like these:

I bought one dress from Isabella Oliver but sent it back because I didn't think the price tag was anywhere near justified by the quality (surprisingly shoddy) and it was also about a foot too long. I'm 5'5" and it was meant to be floor length but I was walking on the end even in 4 inch heels!

Thats a great budget you can buy pile of dresses with that :)

Try dresses from Isabella Oliver. Reese witherspoon wore the same one Or this, love the sequins

They are currently giving 35% off so i suggest grab asap...Good Luck..Have a fab outing :)

Its going to be hard to beat that dress you linked to, it is very stylish and very modern looking - and will be perfect for your stage of preg

I would avoid jersey/clingy type materials probably, as your bump at that stage may not be a proper bump, and may just look like tummy

sedgieloo · 17/05/2012 14:47

Do you like this just thinking, you wont have much of a bump will skim over anything bloatybellywise, nice for a wedding, but might well get use out of this again in the summer. I highly rate IO for mat wear, I find it washes and wears really well and is flattering
