I need some help... BIL's 'big' birthday party on Friday.

It's early evening do...children invited.

I've no idea what to wear. I have nothing.

I'm 5'4", size 14 12, blonde. I need something loose round the tummy area, because I still look pregnant Grin

I'd get some spanx and hit a couple of big department stores and dorothy perkins - I can give you 1001 links but there's no knowing what'll be in stock where you today / tomorrow...

Just some ideas so head in the right direction would be great, I'm a hopeless shopper, I could spend hours hunting in a dept store, only to surface with a loo brush and a new bath mat Blush

You have left it to late for an internet shop unless you rely on next day delivery.

I would start with looking at what you have a go from there.

I'm out on Saturday and have a lovely pair of coast trousrs so I have bought heels, top and new jacket to go with them.

I cruised the house of fraiser sale in my size and found a lovely wax jacket that was delivered at 8am the next day.

DP have some nice items in at the minute as well as new look for the cheaper options.

What do you like to wear?

chocolateteabag · 16/05/2012 22:30

How about this dress from next? watercolour print with nude or black heels and a shawl or cardie if cold? the print should camoflage any errant tummy bulge?

Or this dress with a white slip or vest underneath to make sure you are covered for any accidental gaping.

From what you've said I wouldn't be clear it's a dressy event so would go with great trousers, mid height heels and a top so that you can fit in whether everyone else is casual or smart.

SOmething like this look (link is to trousers but you can see the heels and bottom of top in pic and the sort of smart/casual vibe I mean!) www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-S2012/189505/632275/TROUSERS%2BWITH%2BZIPS%2BAT%2BTHE%2BHEM

I love the shape of Emily & Fin Elsa dresses! I find they're great at covering up my lumps and bumps! They come in lots of different prints, I've got a few. If it's for tomorrow you could get next day delivery? This site I think gives you free next day delivery when you spend over £50! www.kikisboutique.com/item/Emily-and-Fin/Elsa-Dress/AZ2

steph124 - I love that dress!! What would I wear with it?! Shoes? Tights?

I'm glad I could be of assistance! I'd say either bare legs or black tights and black shoes as it will go with the black birds on the print! Do you have a pair of black heels you could wear?

DeliaRose · 17/05/2012 18:04

I have some 'shoe boot' type things same colour/material/heel as these there like an ankle shoe boot thing...can't find similar to show...
