cathyspam · 16/02/2006 15:21

i think as long as the suit is smart you will be fine! Maybe a hat would make you posher!

MamaG · 16/02/2006 15:22

I think you need a skirt, trousers don't seem to be the done thing at a "posh" wedding - and definitely a HAT!

MrsBadger · 16/02/2006 15:22

and heels!
trousers and dull shoes = not posh
same trousers and glam shoes = posh!

nailpolish · 16/02/2006 15:22

a hat! what a great idea.

MrsBadger · 16/02/2006 15:23

NB how posh is posh? If Westminster Abbey, I advise skirt.

nailpolish · 16/02/2006 15:24

I am a big fan of a frock
but a trouser suit and hat will be fine imho

nailpolish · 16/02/2006 15:26

OP posts:
Tinker · 16/02/2006 15:27

Don't think that's posh enough looking (sorry!). Was thinking more Bianca Jagger when you sais trouser suit.

nailpolish · 16/02/2006 15:27

that ok tinker! honesty appreciated

i just cant spend too much cash

OP posts:
cathyspam · 16/02/2006 15:30

some very posh frocks on ebay for small money

Mazzystar · 16/02/2006 15:34

Trouser suits look good for city weddings. But I'm afraid I'm not mad keen on that one. Frock lady here too.

HAve you tried the great plains website, think they had some nice dresses and a trouser suit.

MrsBadger · 16/02/2006 15:34

think this is more along the lines I had in mind though poss not in searing turquoise.
Really really wouldn't go for cropped trousers - too directional for a posh do IMO

nailpolish · 16/02/2006 15:37

cant get anything on that link mrsB

will check out great plains, thanks

must go and pick up dd1 from playgroup, please feel free to post ideas and links!

MrsBadger · 16/02/2006 15:42

damn!

LadyTophamHatt · 16/02/2006 15:44

I agree with tinker. I think it looks abit cheap TBH .....sorry.

Bozza · 16/02/2006 15:46

Agree nailpolish that that cropped trouser suit is not really suitable. Like the cream one posted on the last link.

cathyspam · 16/02/2006 15:47

ooh, found this dress by Cacharel with 40% off! cheaper than the suit but looks posh! posh dress

cathyspam · 16/02/2006 15:50

oops will try again maybe this time

nailpolish · 16/02/2006 18:06

i had thought it too looked a bit cheap

but i can only afford cheap!

i do like the suit you posted mrsB, am thinking of that. what to wear under the jacket?

and the cacherel dress - nice nice nice!

would my pot belly show up in it though?

OP posts:
Mazzystar · 16/02/2006 18:10

you could wear just a simple camisole under the suit - or maybe a simple capsleeved t-shirt - they have a lovely one on kew website for £19 that has a bit of ruching, in lots of different colours. i would keep it simple.

Beetroot · 16/02/2006 18:15

smart suit is fine, trousers or skirt adn a hat
