L.V.L lash lift treatment - any good?

has anyone tried it? Am sick of torturing my poker straight lashes with curlers (curl always drops after an hour anyway), so am thinking of giving it a go. Lisa Eldridge Has a video about it here.

I've never had lashes tinted or permed (lashes are naturally black) so am a bit nervous at the idea of having chemicals painted so close to my eyeballs!

Well I've just tried Myscara, which is along the same lines, ish, and it's next to useless. Sorry, can't help with LVL though.

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 13:11

Hi charliefox - had to Google that as have never heard of it! Sorry it didn't work for you. I'm not fussed about darkening my lashes, I just need something to stop them poking straight out! I've tried heated, non heated curlers, curling mascara but the curl always drops within an hour or so. Might take the plunge and just give it a go.

I recommend getting it done! As long as you're going to someone properly trained, why not! I wouldn't worry about the negatives too much.

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 13:18

Have you had it done Romy? How long did it last?

OP posts:
Whitershadeofpale · 14/05/2012 14:21

I haven't done that but I've had mine permed. Works very well and lasts about 6 weeks.

HermanMumster · 14/05/2012 14:29

Someone on here said recently that if you curl lashes AFTER using WATERPROOF mascara (just a bit) the curl will really last. Normal mascara can go on top afterwards.

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 14:43

Think that was me Herman - lasts a touch longer, but still droopy lashed by the end of the day!

Have you thought about getting eyelash extensions? They are darker and already naturally curled so wet, dry or even with mascara on them they are always going to make your eyes pop - and they blend over your natural eyelashes so you don't need to worry about them. You should look into it they last around 4 weeks.

lumbago · 14/05/2012 15:36

just use revitalash

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 16:04

Romy-am not keen on extensions, purely due to the cost and the maintainence (although I do use individual and strip fake lashes when I go out), but thanks for the advice.

Lumbago - does the revitalash help with curl then? Am tempted to order from QVC and so I can try it for at least for a month (and send it back if it does nothing)

no idea with curl but they are super long

just use a curler

lumbago · 14/05/2012 16:06

what mscara are you using - i think that is your issue. do you think you are thinking about this a TINY bit too much? ;)

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 16:13

Ha ha Lumbago, yes too much time on my hands! (need to get a life obvs Hmm) Use various, Mally volumising, Rimmel lash Accelerator, boots waterproof.

OP posts:
Pinot · 14/05/2012 16:21

Moo I have the same issue. I use Revitalash and have lovely long lashes but using my normal mazzie left my eyelashes straight despite curlers/heated curlers/waterproof mazzie then curlers. Nothing worked.

So now I swapped to a lighter mascara and they're staying curled. I'm using Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Treatment Mascara as I'm obsessed with keeping them long.

So I do this:

revitalash every night

every morning:

heat curlers, curl lashes, holding them in place for a count of three
apply Arden mazzie

I look like Bambi :o

ggirl · 14/05/2012 16:23

curlers don't work with my lashes

lasts a nano second

had mine permed..was fab ..except I was allergic to the chemical and ended up looking like something from The Exorcist for my hols...nice

make sure they do an allergy test first

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 16:28

Hmm, thanks Pinot, feel a trip to Superdrug/Boots is needed (Superdrug have 3 for 2 on all makeup at the moment), purely to research the range of mascaras of course Wink. have you ever used a curling mascara, maybe I should give one a go?

Is my birthday this week, so might just treat myself to the Revitalash!

lumbago · 14/05/2012 16:29

I'd cough up a bit more on mascara. I like Lancôme doll eyes and Dior show

Pinot · 14/05/2012 16:29

I haven't used a curling one before but I'd be interested to see if they work. Weirdly, my left eyelashes are straighter than my right eye. Revitalash super cheap on Amazon and lasts months. V V good.

I sound attractive Hmm :o

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 16:30

Ah, sorry to hear that Ggirl, that's what I'm afraid of! I wear contact lenses so have quite sensitive eyes anyway...

OP posts:
ggirl · 14/05/2012 16:30

what does revitalash do , just make them grow?

Pinot · 14/05/2012 16:31

lumbago that Dior show is too heavy for my lashes though. I have lots of them but they're fine and weak I suppose. I loved the look but it lasted for all of 5 minutes.

Get thee some Arden Ceramide jobby. PHWOAR.

ggirl · 14/05/2012 16:31

you lot I need you on my cardi thread....thanks

Pinot · 14/05/2012 16:31

gg you gotta get some! Makes them stick around so they get longer and stronger. Mine have gone from short and sparse to bambi-esque.

Tis quite ridick. And fulled my obsession with ceramides...

MooMinCow · 14/05/2012 16:36

lumbago-I've used high end mascara (Diorshow, YSL) before, but was trying to save money. Had a sample of the Doll eyes and was v.nice (apart from the strong scent)

Pinot - my right eyelashes stick out more than my left. Will report back if I have success with the Revitalash and/or curling mascara.
