Is this dress right for 'lounge suit' dress code?

OK, I have an 'International Civic Reception' on a weekday evening for work. The dress code is 'lounge suit'. I have bought this dress (first time posting a link, hope it works); it's very like a dress Princess Kate (as my four yo dd calls her) wore last year and I feel fab in it. It is just below knee length on me. But is it right for the occasion?

Oh, and we need a campaign for dress codes to be translated to ladies' clothes. Black tie, lounge suit: should be full length frock, LBD etc.

I wore a leopard print jumper dress about that length and heels to a "lounge suit" dress code thing the other year and it was totally appropriate, so you should be fine.

And totally agree that male orientated dress codes suck. I want to know is it Oscar night ball gown or hen night when I get an invite which never ever happens so a bit academic really .

Thank you - the fashion challenge continues over the following two days when I have to staff an exhibition stand. Flat shoes essential (from painful experience) and business dress. Cue frumpiness and dumpiness!

That dress looks lovely.
I would have had no idea what "lounge suit" meant. My initial thought was velour tracksuit type attire!!!!!
