Ditching Bleach Blonde >> DIY with shop-bought brown?

...or will I need to go through the stripping/re-dying it mousey via the HDs?

I've had half head highlights forever, and it's time to get rid rid rid!

Can anyone recommend doing it myself, any good products to instantly nuke the blonde, or will I have to go thru the tortuous growing-it-out-for-eternity / or the watch-it-go-green-at-the-HDs scenario?

You will have to pre pigment the hair. Use a red dye first then (if you can wait a few days then thats better) use the brown dye.. If you go straight from blonde to brown it will go green. Your hair will be really porous so don't go too dark with the brown dye. I'd reccomend a light brown or dark blonde with an ash tone to try and dilute the previous red dye. HTH
