love it

I'm going to a wedding with lots of fashion people tomorrow and was desperate to find something that doesn't make me feel like a frumpy mum.

It fits so well and was £30! Wearing it with much-too-high black heels.

Good on yer Dotty P.

Love it too !! Really odd as I never shop in DP but have seen some of this seasons dresses and Tuesday going shopping and my first port of call !! Have a great day.
Although would nude heels be better ??

JessieEssex · 11/05/2012 11:23

I tried nude heels but made the whole look a bit 'soft' - black heels looked a bit more 'fierce' for want of a better word...

Of course I will take both pairs with me as I reserve the right to change my mind...

Is it for day or night or both- nude in day, black at night. What colour bag oh and depends on hair colour.

JessieEssex · 11/05/2012 11:32

It's for both - and I'm blonde...

Lovely.

Is it below bra strap height at the back?

JessieEssex · 11/05/2012 11:37

Yes it is - checked today with my lovely nude strapless bra - nothing shows from the back. Magic!

It comes in at least 3 other colours - was tempted to buy them all...

OP posts:
JessieEssex · 11/05/2012 11:38

I mean no - it's not below bra strap line!

I may buy this in nude, I love it.

Bluesue26 · 11/05/2012 12:51

Is it me or has Dotty P's had a massive make over in the past few years? I used to avoid it because I thought it was really mumsy but it's brilliant now. Dress is lovely by the way OP.

imnotmymum · 11/05/2012 12:54

Blue that what has taken me by surprise too DD 13 saw a lovely dress only £25 and said it from dotty. When I was 13 I would not enter the place.

JessieEssex · 11/05/2012 13:07

There is loads of good stuff in there at the moment. A few years ago it was full of synthetic skirt suits and mid height heels...

I love it too! I'd buy it now if I wasn't so pregnant!

lurkingaround · 11/05/2012 14:44

Lovely dress.

Buy all the colours!!

Redfox · 11/05/2012 17:45

I just don't get it - do posters really think that dress is 'lovely'?

I think that dress is awful, its 100% polyester, looks cheap and no doubt feels cheap and scratchy and that style and colour suits very few people.

Not wanting to start a bun flight though!

vonnyh · 11/05/2012 17:54

I bought that dress in navy. I sent it back because I didn't like the super shiny yellow zip, or the feel of the fabric. Lovely shape though.

dexter73 · 11/05/2012 17:54

I think the dress is lovely too. I don't mind polyester, don't think it looks cheap and love the colour.

SarkyWench · 11/05/2012 17:59

I kind of agree.
I do think the style looks lovely but the last 2 times i've bought stuff from DP I've sent it back because although the cut was great they felt and looked rather synthetic.

MadameChinLegs · 11/05/2012 18:01

They have over the last two seasons really upped their game with dresses. All tastes, great prices and just make me want to spend Grin

notyummy · 11/05/2012 18:22

I think Dotty P's are on a roll. Yes, sometimes the stuff reflects the prices, but other times you get a real bargain. I have 2 or 3 dresses I have bought from there this year and I am pleased with them all. Whilst some are poly, plenty are viscose, which is the same as many, many more expensive dresses from higher end high street retailers. (Step forward Reiss etc.)

JessieEssex · 11/05/2012 18:24

It is cheap, but it doesn't look cheap, of course it doesn't look like it costs £200, but I like it. Cheers redfox for your encouraging comments, I can't wait to look cheap and awful tomorrow!

I think it looks lovely, simple cut combined with lace makes it look more expensive than it was. Is is stretch at all? Does it machine wash? (thinking of buying one - can you tell?)

notyummy · 11/05/2012 18:30

Ignore Jessie. With the right accessories, grooming and attitude very few clothes look cheap (uggs, crop tops and jogging bottoms may all be stretching my arguement....but you get where I am going.) Insecure people may need the camoflage of 100% silk or a cool name, and I am sure that a couture dress would look lovely on you, but seeing as most people don't have the additional zero (or two) to add to Dotty Ps price bracket, you choose what works for you and style it wisely.

suburbanstyle · 11/05/2012 18:37

Jessie, I reluctantly wore head to toe DP to a wedding last weekend (the weather was just too bad for the dress I had bought) and felt fabulous and had lots of compliments, sure you will too. Smile

LolaAnn · 11/05/2012 23:32

It is fab. I'm completely in love with DP too which is odd because 3 years ago when I arrived in London it was HORRID.

HappyGirlNow · 12/05/2012 09:19

Love it! I just out the grey and the darker pink (would've bought the blush instead but out of stock).

Thanks Jessie Grin
