Jojo maman bebe service not very good

I ordered some stuff over the weekend. This was not easy to do as their system lost my order 3 times before I managed to put the items through.

I inputted the Mumsnet code for a discount. Their system deducted a discount from the whole order, which apparently it shouldn't have done (I ordered a mix of full price, offer and sale items). They therefore blocked my order, although I have had an email saying they are sending my order, then one saying they will not send my order unless I pay a further amount (unspecified)then another email saying they are sending my order, then another saying they are not.

I have a poorly 3 month old and feel at the mo this is just too complicated - I also ordered from Marks, Frugi and White Co with far less hassle!

Are Jojo usually this bad? Shame, as I like their stuff!

Have been ordering stuff from them for years and never had a problem. Why don't you call them?

ThreadWatcher · 10/05/2012 00:10

I agree that is rubbish.
If I were them I would honour the price with the discount for the whole lot (as that is what it origonally went through at) - as a goodwill gesture.
Then I would amend the site accordingly to ensure that in future customers were clear about the discount they were getting.

I would email them and tell them they are messing you around, askng them to either take your money (the origonal amount) and deliver your order. Then I usually make a flouncy comment about taking my money elsewhere in future where the customer service is better etc.

How much is the difference in price?

KatieMiddleton · 10/05/2012 00:21

I refuse to shop online with them after they refused to apply a discount correctly that their own system had mangled. If I had made two separate orders I would have circumvented their dodgy system and got the full discount which was £20.

Then I ordered a cot top changer which was the same as those you can buy on Ebay for a third of the price - exactly the same item, same manufacturer but a ridiculous mark up. They packed the cot top changer with some desperately needed nipple shields which understandably got broken by the large piece of MDF they were packaged with. The promised replacement never materialised.

Customer service were rude, off hand, condescending and unhelpful.

Shame because their new shop in Richmond is lovely even if it is staffed by people who don't seem to have ever even met a baby or toddler never mind given any kind of appropriate training in how to interact with them.

Threadwatcher - difference in price about £6ish on an order of £89.

I sent this email -

Dear X

I was rather surprised to get your email just now.

...I bought these items together, as I imagine most customers would do and so legitimately inputted the Mumsnet code. I would agree that the set up on the website gives rise to some confusion if it is not able to discriminate between different classes of items with respect to different offers.

I would have thought that since my order has gone through (and I have had a subsequent confirmation of it since your email) the easiest course of action, and the best in terms of customer relations, would be for Jojo Maman Bebe smply to honour my order. Isn't it rather inconvenient to expect customers to input details twice separately because of a problem with your computer set up? I would think that most people would want to order all their items in one block, because usually with online deliveries it is more economical in terms of the delivery charge. This sort of muddle is potentially rather offputting, which is a shame as Jojo Maman Bebe items are rather nice!.

Please do let me know if you really do want me, as a new on-line customer, to make a separate payment which amounts to a few per cent of my overall order, before my order is sent.

yrs etc
