Going for a free haircut next tuesday (if baby doesnt come out before!!) at the vidal sassoon academy. i used to know someone who did that and she always came back with great haircuts.

question is should i do a color before the haircut or should i wait for the haircut and do the color after?

i quite like the look of the first picture (blonde bob) but my hair is mousey blonde and the last ime i did half head of highlight was december 2011...
any advice??

Exciting! I used to go there, many years ago. Best haircuts I have ever had! The ad asks you to come with an open mind, though, as they like to decide for you.

Mind you, they will not do anything without your consent. Wait with the colour until after the cut and ask for a recommendation?

Are you sure you will be able to sit for 3 hours if your baby is due any day?

You see that sounds like a recipe for disaster to me! 'Come with an open mind' in hair dresser language is 'Come and let me hack your hair off!' Wink

One time my friend was asked to be a model on a turntable stage. She looked a bit like a pineapple afterwards, but it was a master haircut and looked really nice after she restyled herself. not trying to put you off, honestly

I used to get my hair done on training nights when I was a teen. The Sassoon academy is meant to be fantastic, I'm sure it'll be great - update afterwards! :)

valiumredhead · 09/05/2012 20:50

Toni and Guy are franchises therefore very hit and miss.

Yes, please update!
I think I might have to plan for a day out in London soon, I want a really good haircut, too!

Just had my haircut for free and it is..... Brilliant!!! Grin
The creative director (teacher) does discuss with you what you would like and make good suggestions.
Definitely more modern than my long-ish always tied hair I had before! Really happy and the cut is of great quality.
The teacher come to check and fix the cut every so often.
Really pleased, I'd recommend it if you have some spare time Smile
It took 4hours for just a cut. Two girls are still there because they also asked for roots/highlights done, which I will ask for too next time.

Oh good, glad you like it! Grin

4 hours, for a cut? Dear God I'd have got fed up and done it myself after an hour and a half!

tostaky · 15/05/2012 18:25

Well I have nothing better to do than wait for that baby to come out!! Wink and it was freeSmile

I need my hair over and done with in less than an hour or I get fidgety and head achey Grin

Glad you like it, it's lovely when you get a good cut.
