I have bought both in a size 8.

I am deffo keeping the 2nd one- it's much paler grey than here- a very very pale grey and the cotton is fine, but fully lined.

The 2nd one I am not sure about- it looks nicer than in the pics and the pattern is "softer".

I am worried it's a bit too dressy- have few dressy occasions- and a tiny bit "mumsy"??? Would you wear more every day?

Having said that I am 45+ but good figure etc.

Any comments?

I imagine that the patterned one would be quite flattering on. I prefer the scalloped one though.

Haven't really helped much there have I?

I love them both and would say, if you're an 8 OP, they'll both look fab on.

I'd imagine the shift style one would been worn to death as it can be dressy or casual.

I love a bit of Mint Velvet.

Although I like -- I think Maisy one may be too dressy or too mumsy for everyday.

Is the scalloped one lined -- you can see the models bra & pants in the John Lewis picture.

Don't like the first but the second is nice

Thanks ladies! Have decided to keep the shift one- which is lined, and return the silk one . When it's fastened with the ties it looks a bit too pleated over the bust and a bit sack like.

I love the second one OP, how short does it come up?

mrssamcam · 09/05/2012 22:42

It's not as short as in the pic as the model is tall.
I am only 5' 3 so it;s still above my knee- about 2-3 inches above top of knee which is as short as i think it reasonable for me!

You could get away with leggings with it though I intend to wear as a dress.
