Recommend me first shoes for 12month old

DD is nearly 12 months old and is making great efforts to walk. For the past two months we've coped with anti-slip socks or nothing to allow her feet to adjust, but I think we need something more robust now.

I would prefer a soft type of shoe for now. Just got these which sound like they would do the job but I am not 100% sure. They are leaving marks on her skin from the elastic bands and I can't tell if they are really bothering her or she's in a grumpy mood today.

Any good suggestions for first, soft shoes?

maybe the ones you have are too small, does she have socks on as well, i have always used those soft shoes by inch blue or daisy roots or bobux and my kids have been chubby little monkeys and i dont remember them leaving marks, or if they did they werent bothered, the elastic will give a bit with time.

they dont recomend proper shoes till they have been walking 6wks?ish those leather shoes are your best bet or clarks do pre walkers but i never found them any good tbh and my leather slipons like inch blue have been handed down through 5 kids and done brilliantly, i still buy new for each child as well, there are so many lovely designs to choose from that i cant resist!

i found clarks were the best, they measure the feet to ensure they are wearing the right size and width for their feet!

I found dd didn't get on at all with the daisy roots ones - she had tiny feet but chubby so they didn't seem to fit at all. Perhaps it's a shape of foot thing.

Once she got to the stage you are describing OP got the clarks pre-walkers as she was slipping everywhere. They worked a treat! didn't have them on all the time though as I thought same thing about leaving feet be..

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I will try one size up with the Inch blue shoes, although they do fit lengthwise, the problem seems to be the chubbyness of the foot as such.

Will try Clarks but (should have mentioned earlier) we're in France so it's a case of whether they sell online/deliver to us. The French are still recommending and selling little booties to support the ankle - it seems to me that they are (as with most things) very far behind the rest of the world.
