any idea on colour?

Somanykiddies · 14/02/2006 18:34

Would love midnight blue although have two younger ones in white/cream BHS numbers so maybe something along those lines.

I've had a look on BHS.co.uk. there's some lovely ones on there but you can't shop online

littlemissbossy · 14/02/2006 18:40

how about this site bridesmaidsdirect they've loads in different colours??

Somanykiddies · 14/02/2006 18:40

That's the trouble, due to circumstances, have left this rather late and only have til 18th March to get sorted. Having said that have found plain white dresses in a catalogue on line. Might run them past the girls.

On another note, any thoughts on flowers. Was thinking of possibly having a few long stem red roses tied with moonlight blue ribbon and the girls with a single rose and ribbon, what do you think? any other ideas would be much appreciated.

Here's one on ebay that could work. Rush orders in 2 weeks here look at her shop. I would be careful though there has been the od negative feedback. But in the main really good.

second BHS - my bridesmaid's dresses came from there and were super.
It's a tricky age to buy for - too old for little-girl dresses but not quite into the whole strapless/corsetty look.
BHS 'teenage' style dresses are really nice, but don't come in navy - burgundy , gold , lilac and (personal favourite) champagne only. The champagne may go well with the ivory of your dress - worth seeing them in the flesh to check.

Re flowers - long-stemmed roses can look lovely but can be tricky to hold elegantly. A posy-type bunch is easier to hold and can be dressed up with long ribbons hanging down - needn't be expensive flowers either.

Somanykiddies · 15/02/2006 10:25

Thank you MrsBadger the champagne ones would be perfect, just need to track them down now, they def weren't in our local BHS!

Great advice on the flowers as well, thank you. For a secret wedding with just us is proving sooooo stressfull, just don't seem to have enough time to sort everything!!!

Can't remember where in the country you are - Oxford St generally has the full range if you can get to London.
Or just ring round stores near-ish you and quote the code number off the website to see if they have them.
You can order them in your local store but don't pay till they arrive and you've checked they're the right thing.

The champagne dresses for little ones are very cute too so they could all match if you wanted.

Somanykiddies · 15/02/2006 10:59

Thanks MrsB, I'm in East Devon, the back of beyond as my mum puts it. Will check with the girls tonight if they would wear them (very fashion concious unfortunately). So much to do, so little time, I'm in a real mess!!!
