Do I have to wear a hat?

Going to a family wedding at a small village church followed by reception in the village hall. I'm the grooms aunt. I've only ever been to one church wedding years ago, and have no idea if it's bad form not to wear a hat. I LOATHE headgear of any sort so really don't want to have to wear one.

Mmm. Best to ask the bride or groom TBH.

I went to a wedding yesterday, and didn't wear a hat. Not many ladies wore hats, about 20% or less. Most of those who did were older, I would say, about the same age as the bride and groom's parents.

I have never worn a hat to a wedding as they look ridiculous on me. I agree with Primrose that it is older people who will wear a hat.

Thanks. Won't bother with headgear then. Phew! It's years and years since I've been to a church wedding so am glad that hats seem to be optional.
