Advice re: razors for the super-hairy legged

Hi everyone, new to this forum Smile

My question is, what is the best razor for women with very hairy legs Blush and fast regrowth. I have to shave every day if I want to be smooth, don't want to wax and those new razors with 4 or 5 blades don't seem to give a close shave for me. My old razor has been discontinued. I'd be gratfeul if anyone can recommend a good razor.

I used to like the venus ones... but if you have a really good shaving gel, for some reason, you (me anyway) don't seem to get a close enough shave... whereas with a normal decent (mans) gillette razor, it comes up pretty good...

I'll be watching this thread, as I am also looking for some good razors...

I use the one with the soap around it but I can't remember what it's called. Intution? think that's it. Saves the need for gel.

ArtVandelay · 06/05/2012 12:14

I use an old Gillette mach 3 of DH's (with new blades obviously!) I'm not having a lot of hair but I think the soppy pink laydee type ones go blunt quicker and aren't as good. Have you tried using hair conditioner to shave with? Its been recommended on here although I haven't tried it myself yet.

ebbandflow · 06/05/2012 12:58

Watching with interest-my old razor has been discontinued it was a gillette sensor excel for women.

MrsLettuce · 06/05/2012 13:03

You need a good mens razor. Shave using conditioner with hot (as you can stand) water from the shower streaming over your leg as you work.

miche8 · 06/05/2012 14:50

i think the mens gillette razors are way better than the womens, they last longer too.

Poppolino · 07/05/2012 08:01

Blimey it's busy on here...took ages to find my thread. Thanks for all advice. It sounds like the men's razor is the way forward. Ebb and flow, I have exactly the same prob in that I was using the Sensor Excel and I can't find anuthing to top that. All these quattros and whatnot seem to be shite Sad

MrsLettuce - I haven't tried conditioner, is that effective? I use King of Shaves Gel, which I would also recommend. You get it in the men's section at boots

I just did the conditioner shave. I think its much better than foam - thanks MN!

DinahMoHum · 07/05/2012 08:39

mach 3 turbo, and shave with johnsons shower and shave

MrsLettuce · 07/05/2012 08:41

Yes, it really is! Particularly in combination with a good mens razor and hot water running over the leg.

Poppolino · 07/05/2012 09:49

thank you, will try that

Just had a look which razor I use - it's a Mach 3 turbo too. Very good.
