I've just spent all evening googling in search of a shapewear-style swimsuit, with proper bra support and a longer length body. But I can't find anything that ticks all the boxes (ie something that holds in tummy, doesn't ride up at top of legs, and vaguely flatters top half). Anybody got any suggestions. Tankini or full cossie would be fine

i'd like that too. Landsend.com do good swimwear but they often tick two out of the three but not all. Tankini might be easier as the length is not such a problem. I am tall but have a small bra band size (30) so bra sized swimwear tends to be short in the body as though all narrow backed women are 5'2".

Have you looked on Figleaves website? They have the best selection I've seen.

blabalalalablabla · 01/05/2012 22:23

I feel your pain - I am a long body, a 32E and wobbly of tum and have never found a flattering swimsuit. I look far better in a bikini.

Waxtart · 01/05/2012 22:33

Have you looked at the Speedo sculpture range? Or Zoggs - I think they do a "longer" range.

OhCobblers · 01/05/2012 22:37

I had the same problem last week and spent a while perusing the M&S website. Found 2 that i really liked in the "tummy control" section!

I think I'd look far better in a burkini.

BettyBathroom · 01/05/2012 23:25

Try Seafolly, they worked for me - long narrow body, big norks, gathered around the waisted so no roll show - perfect really. Smile

hellymelly · 01/05/2012 23:46

Oh that sounds good for me- I will go and google.

hellymelly · 01/05/2012 23:49

like the ones i've seen- what style do you have Betty?

BettyBathroom · 02/05/2012 12:05

I went for the Boyleg Sophia - I love it!

hellymelly · 02/05/2012 17:44

Oh! that was my favourite too- what sort of size are you if you don't mind me asking? (I am five eight, with a 30ff bust and roughly a 10 on a good day 12 on a fatter one. Rather chubby of thigh too...).

itdidntworkout · 02/05/2012 17:59

I think NEXT have some shapewear swimming cossies.

LittlePandaBear · 02/05/2012 18:49

£87 for a swimsuit! Shock I'd expect to lose at least 2 dress sizes if I paid that!

ContinentalKat · 02/05/2012 19:28

Bravissimo. Will have to wait until next payday, though. Sad

newbrunette · 02/05/2012 21:46

Hey, thanks so much for all the tips. I think I might go for this one (in the hope that it might make me look like the model)

Simply be do 2 lengths so u could buy longer length

ContinentalKat · 02/05/2012 21:56

Nice one, and very reasonably priced!Smile

Habdab · 03/05/2012 09:14

Debenhams do very pretty long body swimsuits now. Really flattering. Good price too.

BettyBathroom · 03/05/2012 10:02

Hellymelly I think we are body twins - I am 5ft 8in bust 30E - size 10 to 12, thighs on the large side. The waist on the swimsuit is small so I needed the 12 to get it over my hips. The Sophia just looked amazing - cool actually, I've never tried on a swimsuit and thought it looked cool. It comes in different shades of blue - I went for indigo.

I'd do a mass order of different suits and send back the ones that don't work - google for voucher codes, I got 10% off plus free P&P from most sites. I paid £79 for the Sophia and free postage with Gear for Girls.

hellymelly · 03/05/2012 17:05

Oh I will do that, massively helpful that we are the same sort of size and shape. I had a 23" waist pre-children...sigh...now I just have to adjust to being larger and get into a swimsuit regardless.
