Come and talk to me about AHH Bras (or their cheap equivilant)

I need a new plain nude t-shirt bra

I'm a 36G so this seems like a ridiculous thing I want.

Everywhere I look they are ridiculously over priced and not exactly seemless.

So I saw that daft advert this morning but the women only mentioned sizes as big as 34DD etc.

So will they fit my ridiculously big boobs or is it wishful thinking?

And are they actually as good as they look?

Have you tried the Freya t shirt bra? It's very good and not as expensive as many.

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 01/05/2012 08:01

Have you got a link monkey?

Asda have seamless t shirt bras for £4 at the moment, they go up to a 42G.

monkeysmama · 01/05/2012 08:39

Here you go - have a look at Figleaves and Leia for slightly cheaper. eBay often too.

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 01/05/2012 08:52

Stella I have the Asda but its too small now. Asda don't do FF so I think their G is more like a FF.

Thank you Monkey I've looked on ebay but didn't see anything that actually looked seemless.

Sorry, I meant search for the Freya one on eBay as sometimes they sell old stock cheaper. Well worth £30 imo though - I've worn nothing else since I discovered them.

I know of someone who has an ahh bra and she said its really comfy.
In a sleb mag a few weeks ago a lady tested a Genie bra and she said it was the Ugg boots equivalent of the bra world. (I've never worn ugg boots but I think she means they are very comfy). I think they come in a pack of 3, nude black, white and extra padding. I'm sure it was about £37 which isn't bad for 3 bra's and they can be bought online as well as Boots, Asda and a couple of other shops.

UserNameNotAvailable · 01/05/2012 10:18

Just remembered that I saw a version of the Genie bra in Matalan for £4.
I've just had a breast reduction and I will be buying one when I get the all clear to move on from sports bra's.

LittleBarnOwl · 01/05/2012 10:24

I got a Genie bra, shouldn't have bothered really as I'm 34H. It's comfy but no support at all.

It's ok as a round the house bra but no use if you are doing anything where your boobs might move.

Two hippos fighting in a string bag comes to mind.

kellestar · 01/05/2012 14:33

freya seamless t-shirt in nude is my best bra I've bought. 36GG here and it does a good job of supporting and appearing seamless. It was £30 and it's one of the most expensive bra's I own, but it is well worth it, to be able to wear a light coloured close fitting top without saying, here's my bra

I like to have a handful of bra's that have different purposes, my everyday ones freya, but off eBay.

The Ahhh Bras are a bit like the sloggi bras of the 90's, unaboob, fine for slobbing about but not for 'in public' use. My mum loves hers, but it does nothing to support her so she has back ache and boobs are in the same position as if she wasn't wearing a bra at all.

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 01/05/2012 15:24

I emailed an ebay seller about the Ahh bras and she didn't reccomend it for my size at all.

I love my sports bra for around the house but I do want a good supportting t-shirt bra.

I'll do a good search for the Freya one monkey I've bought Freya bras before and they've been really good.

Thank you every one

M&S have 2 packs for t shirt bras for £18. There DD+ range goes up to G.

I prefer underwired and they are 2 x £16. They come in nude/white or black/white. Worth a trip to try on?

FullBeam · 01/05/2012 16:39

I'm about your size and I usually go to M&S for everyday bras as they are quite good value.

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 01/05/2012 16:49

It is a trip too Egg over an hour away to my nearest M&S but maybe I will go but it will have to wait.

Can I not just buy online then send back if they don't fit?

OP posts:
Eggrules · 01/05/2012 17:10

I was told in store to keep packaging and my receipt and that I could bring it back if it didn't fit.

M&S website says: Bra accessories can only be returned in accordance with your legal rights, or if packaging is unopened or any seals remain intact.

I would contact them by email to check.

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 01/05/2012 18:13

I checked their returns policy and I can just return it through the post.

I've ordered their memory foam (extra support) t-shirt bra. It is from their DD+ range. I do like M&S bras they usually fit well so fingers crossed it does.

Eggrules · 01/05/2012 19:01

I hope they fit, they look lovely. Very reasonable for large cup bras.

Beware of M&S cotton two packs. You will look like Miss Mary and have norks like torpedoes.

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 01/05/2012 19:03

hahaha

Sounds like the horrific bra I was advised forced to buy when pregnant.

I'm usually a matching underwear girl but sometimes it just doesn't work with a yellow t-shirt.

OP posts:
Eggrules · 01/05/2012 20:53

Report back please.

I am interested by memory foam in a bra; my pillow is made of that stuff.

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 01/05/2012 21:06

haha so is my pillow great for my back so I'm curious about my boobs Grin

3-5 days delivery then I'll figure out when I'll wear it. I'll let you know.

Mayisout · 02/05/2012 04:50

I bought an Aaaah bra in the US. It is ok for sleeping in or lounging around at home but not enough support for outside.

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 28/05/2012 19:11

I never got the memory foam one.

They emailed me to say they were out of stock so bloody bugger off M&S.

I bought a bra off Boux Avenue lovely service and item beautiful free gift wrapping and cheaper than M&S Grin
