I have just managed to spill the contents of a takeaway down the front and sponging isnt taking the stench away...would you risk it?

Is it 100 % cotton? My DD has a boden raincoat which has been in the washing machine lots of times & has washed well.

My Mum handwashed mine with vanish soap Blush and it came up lovely. Might ask her to do it again Blush Blush

I wash anything claiming to be waterproof with this

cheesesarnie · 29/04/2012 21:54

ours have always gone in the machine and been ok

Machine washed my cotton raincoat successfully (removed the belt though) on a delicate setting. I used a colour catcher sheet as mine is cream with a red pattern. came out beautifully and no chocolate stains left from the hot chocolate I so clumsily spilt on it.

If it is a coated mac though you will lose the weatherproofing by washing it.

IME Boden raincoats are nowhere near waterproof so I'd just bung it in the washing machine. It won't be any less use in the British weather.

I handwashed my mac thing with fleecey lining and its wrecked - all the coating stuff came off and it looks so faded now. So no, I wouldnt.

I never handwash anything.

doubt it would come clean with just handwashing.

why am i posting this? I don't know who boden is, I don't care and I'm about to pour my 3rd glass of wine.

'It says it's treated to be showerproof. I'd handwash it with these soap flakes. They're cheap and protect as much as the waterproofness as possible.
