This might be very exiting if you have big feet....

I'm a big 8. 9 when pg or v overweight. Over the years I have worked out where to get shoes to fit, but I am fed up of wearing men's socks. Women's socks are always size 4-7 - too short. Men's socks are always black, or chunky, or sporty or argyle AND too long on the leg and baggy on the foot. So I generally have the choice of nice coloured socks with holes in the toes or black/macho socks that fit on the foot but run half way up to my knees and slide under my heel. I am sure I am not alone.

Was in M&S on Friday and found these! these. Pretty colours and fit perfectly! I got the 8-9.5. DH does not believe that they are men's socks (his are all black/chunky/sporty). He calls them my metrosexual socks. I love them. Will be buying more. They are the sock of my dreams.

I love M&S freshfeet, been wearing them for years and it's really easy to match the pairs up.

We all wear these chez Dexter - I am size 8 so is dh and dd is size 7.

I'm not that bothered about socks, I just wear DP's! But I'm very interested in hearing some of your top tips for shoe buying. I'm 8-8.5 and really sick of coming away empty-handed from shoe shopping expeditions.

First of all, don't even look at Fly London. I love their boots, but their 8 is tiny! Boden 8 mininscule too. Hobbs 8 fits me, but they don't do all their styles up to this size.

High Street places where an 8 is generous and fits my 8-8.5 feet - M&S, Next, White Stuff, Fat Face. Next, Office and Nine West (at Debenhams/House of Frazer) also do a 9 in some styles. Accessorise sometimes too.

Doc Marten "Fashion" range g up to a generous 8. I have 3 versions of these boots in different colours/slightly different style.

More specialist big foot shoe shops - Duo (few shops, also on line) - up to 43, Viva la Diva (on line) and Amber and Rose (on line).

Hope that helps!
