please help me find nude patent wedges

I really want some to go with a dress. can't link to it as sold out, but it's nude mid thigh tunic with horizontal stripes of mother-of-pearl coloured sequins.

the spec needs to include
Ankle strap (other wise I can't walk in them), not just a sling back
heel height no more than about 5 cm, probably less. ( in additon to the wedge)
sides of wedge can be cork or suede or leather, but not that espadrille rope stuff)
peep or open toe

I tried on these which are very close but no ankle strap, and they rubbed my toes in both the size 5 and the 6, and the 6 also slipped a lot.

If I don't find some I will have to wear either some hot pink suede wedges with cork heels (mega comfy, from clarkes) or some purple mary janes with 4cm heels from chia mihara. One of the events I need to wear the dress to is black tie, so the pink wedges probably are not ideal, though in the past I have worn wierd stuff and got away with it though I was much younger and a goth.

sorry, forgot to mention budget, £100 absolute maximum, but nearer £50 really.

peep toe

There seem to be so few options for lower height wedges, something which always annoys me - it's either sky high or stiletto.

ToastedTeacakes · 27/04/2012 15:43

peep toe

ToastedTeacakes · 27/04/2012 15:43

Apologies, I give up.

bonzo77 · 27/04/2012 15:55

thank you both so much, that was fast work.

these are top of my short list

lovely despite being suede but i think i need a pink nude.

I love the melissa ones but just don't think I could walk in them, being both high and narrow.

Jeez I'm fussy. DS just woke up. Back later. thanks

M&S had some about 6 weeks ago

PoppyWearer · 27/04/2012 20:52

Got mine from Nine West a few years back, sorry can't look at their website now to see if they have any!

lurkingaround · 27/04/2012 22:07

These Zara ones aren't perfect but worth a look?

BellaVita · 27/04/2012 22:12

how about these?

I bought them a few weeks ago from Moda in Pelle - very comfy.

They have 15% off at the moment.

bonzo77 · 27/04/2012 22:43

lurking those Zara ones are actually more perfect than I realised, and good price. DH is on DS duty tomorrow so will go and try.

there are so many lovely sling back ones, but I know I'll regret them. M&S had some quite acceptable ones. DH reckoned I should just put plasters on in anticipation, but I think I'm too old for that sort of pain!

FWIW, I brought these home from M&S today. Sorry, they don't have the ankle strap AND have espadrille style heels so are not what you are looking for but they are comfortable. Not sure if I will get enough wear out of them buy they are beautiful.

mariel · 28/04/2012 00:21

aren't these lovely?

mariel · 28/04/2012 00:22

in tan i mean Smile

bonzo77 · 28/04/2012 08:46

mariel they are bloody gorgeous. Would I be a nutter to glue a bit of flesh coloured elastic to the front to keep them on? I could do it very neatly, I'm good at that sort of thing. Sort of glue it to the underneath.

dingdon I looked at those, and they are also under serious consideration, especially at that price. Could do the elastic thing with those too...

I like those dingdong, perfect for summer, but I do end up clip-clopping around in sling backs. But for the sake of fashion, I might just suffer that!

lurkingaround · 28/04/2012 12:19

bonzo will you go into the elastic thingy to keep the shoes on your feet in a bit more detail? If it works it sounds fantastic. No more clip-clopping.

4goingon14 · 28/04/2012 13:24

I bought These a while ago. They are nude, not too high and bargainous! I now want them in every color they are so comfortable.

Highly recommended.

bonzo77 · 28/04/2012 19:32

lurking I'd get a bit of elastic from the haberdasher in a similar colour to the shoes and just, well, glue to the underneath of the side straps of the sling back, so it sits across my foot just below the front of my ankle. Use super glue. But would only risk it with cheap shoes. It would look a bit like kiddie ballet shoes.

Oh I'm going to try to do a link from my phone...... Here goes

these are what I bought. Not quite what I originally thought I wanted but v comfy.

OP posts:
dingdong3 · 28/04/2012 21:06

They are lovely bonzo....so glad you got sorted :)

lurkingaround · 28/04/2012 21:59

Lovely sandals bonzo. Might give your homemade sling back hanger-oners a go. Would be v handy if you were wearing sling backs under jeans/trousers. Put an end to the clip-clopping!
