Something that could be worn for the jubilee / olympics ?

I am looking for a 5 years old boy !

Must be £10 or under as its a present.

John Lewis have some stuff, but its a bit pricey, and so do Next - but has anybody bought anything else that would be happy to share ?

Lots on Ebay. This one's niceSmile

Matalan have this and they also have some dressing up outfits like a soldier with a bearskin style hat.

supernannyisace · 25/04/2012 11:27

I got a quick glimpse at someunion jack stuf in Matalan the other day - but didn't take that much notice.

I did eye up the union jack ladies' knickers though - fancied a pair, but they didn't have my size... must be popular.

Primark maybe? I bought son a tshirt but in the men's dept. it is a union jack with dangermouse superimposed.

Argos have a lot of olympic themed stuff and a few union jack tees

typicalvirgo · 25/04/2012 11:38

I like that one from Matalan, but the nearest store is 15 miles away.

I'm thinking of getting this one from Tesco.

but would you be a bit sniffy about receiving 'supermarket' clothes even if I bulk it up a bit with something else ? I don't really know the mum and usually spend about £10 on a present.

I wouldn't be... but people can be odd sometimes ...

Next has a union jack one for £7-£8.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 25/04/2012 11:46

I bought one of these for each of my girls. I don't usually do names on clothes but these would only be worn for a street party and then they're being chopped up and put on memory blankets!!

Obviously they're girls' ones but she also does other union jack stuff for boys.

typicalvirgo · 25/04/2012 11:54

The Next one is lovely but theres a 5 week wait coco

Ooh lovely gwen

I think I might go with the Tesco one ....

I wouldn't be sniffy about Tesco clothing as a present. Stick a big bar of chocolate in with it!!

psammyad · 25/04/2012 13:31

this is nice, as long as he doesn't realise it's an adult women's sweatshirt from Zara

Zara do Kids / Boys stuff so you might just get away with it... but maybe not worth the risk!

psammyad · 25/04/2012 13:34

(oops just realised he's only 5 - for some reason I though he was more like 9 or 10 in which case a size 6 or an XS would've worked)

(and have gone over budget too)

Maybe Zara Kids have something - they can be v.cheap for t-shirts.

TheDowager · 25/04/2012 14:07

Sainsbos has some great swimming trunks that could be worn as shorts. Baggy style

mrsebojones · 25/04/2012 14:13

I was in a Next Store the other day and they have lots of union jack T-shirts / Olympics 2012 / London type T-shirts.

SystemofaDowny · 25/04/2012 14:16

I bought this for DS (age 5) for a school theme day where he had to go dressed as a sportsperson/in the clothes of a sport he plays.

The only sport DS does is swimming and I thought it was a bit mean to send him in wearing only his trunks, so he wore that t-shirt with his swimming goggles on his head instead.
