My two-piece days are over. So has anyone found GENUINELY flattering post-baby costumes? I am willing to spend. I just need to be held in...

Nothing for it but to get out there and try lots on. It is hard to find the right cossie, but when you do, they can be incredibly flattering.

I found a lovely tummy support cossie in M&S last month (M&S usually grim), a nice one in Next and decent one in New Look. John Lewis also have a few god ones this year.

You need tummy control or secret support. Go for pattern/detail, not plain colours.

I love swimsuits. Would never go back to bikinis. Who really wants to see my c-section overhang? Not me! Grin

These Miraclesuits are great for tummy control and most of them have gathering around the tummy area that's v flattering. If you're a D+ cup size, I've heard Fantasie, Freya and Panache are good too.

sobenobu · 24/04/2012 21:49

Boden vintage one is great.
I have the M&S ones too with the support but as Mags said it's the design that makes the most difference. Patterned ones seem to disguise more than a black colour of gathered material.
I found a miraclesuit in TKMaxx for £40 and expected to love it....but didn't.

NewMatic · 24/04/2012 22:09

Colour is key. I like freya.

EatYourHeartOut · 24/04/2012 22:22

I was in your position last year and I went for a nice busy (but not granny) pattern with a flattering halter neck. The pattern disguised my lumps and bumps and the halter neck drew attention to my top half and away from my tummy. It was far more flattering than any of the 'control tummy' suits I tried because they all seemed to be really granny aged.

pigleychez · 24/04/2012 22:46

Ive just bought this for my holiday in June. Very flattering on.

Kaloobear · 24/04/2012 22:49

I am in exactly the same position and have just bought one from Bravissimo that is polka dot with cherries on (nicer than it sounds)-it has tummy control and is cut in a v flattering way. It is also sold by bra size which is important if you're me!

Can't remember how to link on phone, sorry. Was also impressed with the price as all the others I'd seen aimed at people with boobs were around the £50 mark or much more.

hermionestranger · 24/04/2012 22:51

Seriously the Tesco tummy control are fab and only £12! Two babies by section so it'll never be right again and this costume makes it all flat! GrinGrinGrinGrin

I like a plain black underwired bikini or a plain black strapless one piece.

Bonsoir · 25/04/2012 10:02

Halter neck one-piece swimsuits are my favourite - they look great glammed up with a big sunhat/sunglasses/necklace/pedicure/sandals.

fancynancy1 · 25/04/2012 10:06

This one ?

StopEatingThatMud · 25/04/2012 10:13

What hermione said!

I have a Tesco £12 black, white and red polka dot, halterneck tummy control costume with clever ruching bits and good boob support and I love what it does to my post dd jelly belly.

Honestly, give them a try before splashing out anything pricier, you might be pleasantly surprised!

choceyes · 25/04/2012 10:20

I love that one KalooBear - I might order that one...thanks!! I am a 30F so need a good supportive swimsuit and after 2 c-sections, need it to be tummy comtrolling too!

noddyholder · 25/04/2012 12:30

this looks promising

EatYourHeartOut · 25/04/2012 12:39

If you like the Boden vintage costume, Sainsburys are doing a polka dot one that is very similar, just like the polka one Boden did last year.

EatYourHeartOut · 25/04/2012 12:40

Sorry, its the Boden Retro one that the Sainburys one is just like. I tried it on this morning and was really impressed.

vix206 · 25/04/2012 14:04

OOps just got told off for advertising my business. I'm sorry I genuinely didn't mean to I was really trying to be helpful. I will definitely avoid swimwear threads from now on. Sorry to those who reported me, didn't mean to offend/annoy :(

snoozingbeauty · 01/05/2012 10:17

Thanks everyone. I also found this one I might go for, any thoughts which colour might be most flattering for someone fairly pale? incapable of making any decisions
