Liza Earle cleanse and polish- should I persevere?

Only been doing it a few days- mega breakout, look like a teenager. Believe me I'm not.
Should I continue in the faith that I will get glowing skin eventually?

I dunno. It broke me out badly too, and I didn't persevere. Plenty of cream cleansers work for me without giving me spots, so I wasn't going to hang around and find out.

Currently using Alpha H balancing cream cleanser, which does the job.

It did nothing for me either, my skin's oily and a bit sensitive (but not overly) - it gave me little red bumps in my t-zone and made my skin flaky.

knitknack · 22/04/2012 19:20

It hurt my skin too - it's the camphor in it, apparently!

Chicinwellies · 23/04/2012 10:19

How funny, I am on day 4 of this and LOVE it and cant believe I didnt discover it before. Didnt however give me breakouts and probably wouldnt carry on if it did, I guess it doesnt suit all?

Pinkglow · 23/04/2012 10:50

It broke me out too but I persevered because I wanted it to be anything but the Liz Earle that was breaking me out.
It didnt get better but worse and then my pores which are normally not noticeable suddenly looked like craters, even the pores on my forehead.

I loved the product and I loved using it but when I did abit of research it appears that its the coco butter in it that is well known for blocking pores.

Apparently the Boots N7 one has alot less coco butter so I may give that a try once my skin gets back to normal

Pinkglow · 23/04/2012 10:50

oh forgot to mention that I used it for a good week before all the breakouts happened

EnjoyResponsibly · 23/04/2012 10:51

Did you buy it with the moisturiser? I'm finding that if I just do C&P I do indeed look tres fab, but the sales lady advised the dry skin moisturiser and it's way OTT and makes me very shiny.

Jessicaalbastwin · 23/04/2012 11:04

I love alpha-H balancing cleanser, it's very good for blemishes and open pores. Cleanse and polish gave me them horrid little red spots, and made My face itchy, so did the superskin moisturiser.

squoosh · 23/04/2012 12:21

I knoiw lots of people rave about this product but I can't stand it. It gives me bumpy whitehead type things all over my face.

Gap of a year between trying it and same thing happened both times.

ComradeJing · 23/04/2012 14:22

I think all face care products need approx 6 weeks to show if they are really working or not.

OCM gave me vile skin for the first 3 odd weeks and then suddenly I had the best skin I have ever had in my life. It was amazing.

I'd keep going with it!

IAmRubyLennox · 23/04/2012 14:38

I really hated it. Sorry, I know lots of people love it but it made my skin spotty and uneven in tone, and a funny texture. I use Clinique 3-step (mild facial wash & no.2 clarifying lotion), and it's better than it's been in years.

PerryCombover · 23/04/2012 14:44

Lots love it on here but it killed me

For the millionth time I use Olay daily washcloths in sensitive and then rise wit a bit of hot water
For a few quid my skin is FAR better than ever and I'm a total tool for expensive beauty marketing
I can't believe how good it is
