And I really like it. Have wanted to try it for ages and finally got my hands on a sample. Had hoped I wouldn't like it but I do. But it is so expensive :(

Its really not that great, for the price anyway. I bought some after much umms and ahhs but only used about half the tub, i found it a bit faffsome and its really not true that you don't need a moisturiser afterwards. I use Liz earle now, much better imo.

I think it's brilliant (although not necessarily much better than OCM). One tub last such a ridiculously long time that it worked out cheaper for me than Liz Earle.

Try Emma Hardie first! I much prefer it to EL... I wonder if you could get a sample?

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/04/2012 08:02

I liked it but also like the Vaishaly one which is very similar but has a pump action which I prefer and every christmas they do BOGOF so works out pretty reasonable price wise.

PerryCombover · 19/04/2012 09:05

I used it and liked it very much. It was utter crap for me though.
i had to keep adding other bits or not using as it was supposed to as it was murdering my skin.
They told me not to use the muslin, use it every other day etc etc what I needed was TLC cream, mask...(I thought my face would burn off after the clay mask but continued )
Deep down I knew this product wasn't very good (for me) but I was completely sold on the delicious whiteness of it all and SpaceNk and all the advertisements

I think it's basically fancy Vaseline with medical smelling guff in it and it's about as messy as magic sand
Snake oil ssssssssss

Boots Botanics Cleansing Balm is a really good alternative and only about £7. I love it, although a bit worried that it's been out of stock for a while.

RubyFakeNails · 19/04/2012 13:42

I really wanted to like it, got a starter kit so was fully prepared and it gave me a terrible reaction.

Was told by staff it gets worse before it gets better but no improvement after two weeks and my skin seemed to be damaged so I tried Liz Earle and have never looked back.

My skin has never been so good since using Liz and I'm a complete convert to all her products.

However to recommend Eve Lom lip balm.

squoosh · 19/04/2012 14:14

Liz Earle's cleanser gives me bumps all over my face.

SnakePlisskensMum · 19/04/2012 14:39

Try buying it on eBay, you can get it a little cheaper there

WestWinger · 19/04/2012 14:42

I recommend Emma Hardie too! Bit cheaper and nicer, IMHO.

bintofbohemia · 19/04/2012 14:44

I was going to say ebay, I got my last lot from there. Must actually use it sometime!

Have also been converted to Liz Earle. Lovely stuff. Dammit.

dingdong3 · 19/04/2012 16:30

I use Neal's Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm and LOVE it...same idea and close in texture to EL but not as expensive to buy a tub...though, and here is where I need someone to enlighten me. The NY stuff is in a 50G tub for £35 but the EL is £55 for 100ml..apples and pears..I think from memory, they are the same size but it's been a few years since I used EL.

foosty · 19/04/2012 16:58

Eve Lom is my favourite too, but also can't afford it. Have never tried Liz Earle
(though I might get Red magazine this month as there's a sample bottle with it) but can also recommend the Boots Botanics cleansing balm - it's pretty close to EL but cheapo - here

another one that I use frequently and love is just coconut oil. It is much oilier than a balm but does the same thing.

Zembo · 19/04/2012 17:07

I liked Eve Lom but too expensive, so I tried Liz Earle - didn't really get on with that. I then switched to Molton Brown's cleanser and it's fantastic. They've recently reformulated their whole skincare range - I've bought the new version of the cleanser for normal-dry skin - £25 for a decent sized bottle - eye makeup just melts away with it. Skincare is all very personal though and lots of trial and error required imo.

justtryingtodomybest · 19/04/2012 19:07

So.....do I go with my head and buy Boots Botanics or go with my heart and try Neals Yard Confused
