Barbara Daly or Smashbox photo finish primer?

which is best? Or something different altogether? Just using up the last of my MAC one which I was a bit meh about, and decided I'd try something new. Which one is better? I don't mind spending a bit if it's worth it, but equally I'm always delighted to get a bargain. Any advice or suggestions gratefully welcomed!

i love smashbox it's just so smooth but don't use every day

the b daly one made my skin itch but cheap so probably worth trying

I love Smashbox Photofinish and would definitely recommend.

Never tried the Barbara Daly but I did notice when I was in Tesco that the pot is smaller so I wondered if it is false economy and price per ml might not really be that much cheaper than the better brands.

I've just bought the Smashbox hydrating photofinish primer, though haven't yet tried it. Not heard of the Barbara Daly brand.

Barbra Daly every time - wonderful stuff and I have tried loads of primers.

Sorry to lope in with a strange, vulgar and only tangentially related question.

But does anyone know how/why Smashbox got its name?

It's far too close to the vulgar term for rough sex for me to want try the brand, let alone buy it. So I was wondering if there was another meaning to the term that had passed me by.

EllenParsons · 19/04/2012 12:09

LOL Edith Shock I have never heard of Smashbox meaning something to do with rough sex so it never put me off! I dunno why the brand got its name. Their slogan is something like always photo ready so maybe it's something to do with a camera?! No idea tbh.

oh dear, still torn! Wondering if I might just go for the BD as I really need more primer soon and none of you have said anything bad about it... and its cheaper! If I don't end up liking it I can then try the Smashbox one?

If you order the Smashbox from QVC you can try it for 30 days and if you don't like it just send it back and get a refund

Thanks EllenParsons if you've not come across the phrase I mean, don't google it
