Are you steaming your face? Use a cloth that is too hot? These can be drying. I love OCM but my face doesn't like the steam or water being too hot.

i had a similar problem and i was using coconut oil too - i did some research on the internet and found out that it is something to do with coconut oil's chemical makeup and that it absorbs the natural oil in your skin - like with like. also because you are putting oil on your skin your own oil production thinks it doesn't have to produce. i stopped using oil and use a muslin cloth and warm water to clean my face and an oil and water emulsion on my skin to moisturise
i will try to find the link for you as i think i saved it.

My skin was dry too but I think it was the castor oil, so I just use less castor oil and more of the sweet almond oil. this seems to have helped. I also don't do ocm every night, I alternate wth water and Nivea. On the nights I do ocm I also use some of the sweet almond after to give extra moisture.
I also bought organic fresh press, or something like that, as I read that non-organic can increase the drying. Don't know if I am giving any advice, but just thought would share my experience.

Thanks for info and the great link.I think the water is too hot and that I need to add some moisture - any suggestions ATM I'm using a bog standard NIvea visage moisturiser but I would love something purer.

You could try using a drop of oil after you've cleansed. Use the sweet almond or jojoba. Or there are various facial oils you can buy, Superdrug Vit E and Neals Yard Rose Oil are some of the ones I've seen recommended on here. I've never successfully used oil to moisturise in the morning and then applied make up though so can't help you there.
