Wedding in ten days in the lake district... i have bought a dress similar to this dress

to wear with wedge sandals (Bare legs), was going to wear a flooppy sunhat...

But it's snowy!!!

My dress is blue and brown flowers.. so i was thinking brown knee-high boots, cardi... i guess i can't wear the hat or i'll look like a cow-girl?? i don't know.. what do you think? how can i not freeze?

blue/brown tights, boots, something blue/brown long-sleeved underneath and a cardy on top? i'd wear a coat too...but then i'm always freezing Grin you could still wear a hat, but not a sun hat.

i'm sure you'll pull it round!

maybenow · 18/04/2012 10:24

my only proper 'coat' is a long black wool one Grin - that's not going to work, other than that it's just jackets or ski jackets - maybe going a bit far.. but it is the lake district Grin

I wouldn't wear tights, I've got a real thing about winter tights being worn with summer dresses, flesh colour tights would be ok, with wedges or something. If I was going, I'd have to buy a whole new outfit!

Wear thermals underneath?

PerryCombover · 18/04/2012 11:37

Is it being held outside?
If not, carry on regardless with some fine nude fishnets on your legs
Do not shiver act red carpet warm for the dashing from venue to venue and you'll be fine

BrianButterfield · 18/04/2012 11:45

I've got that dress in another print - IMO it's too light to wear with tights, it would be all wrong.

maybenow · 18/04/2012 11:58

not outside but three different venues around the village which require walking between... (church, drinks, dinner).

how about knee-high light brown boots with nude tights?

and a brown cardi?

I would get some leggings and wear them with your boots and the brown cardi. I would also wear my coat. I don't like being cold.

maybenow · 18/04/2012 12:11

no, that's not it.

this is the dress style www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/fat-face-summer-dress/99410540 but that's not the colour i've got, mine is a white background with light blue and light brown flowery pattern.

bought it for a wedding last year in july that was cancelled.. haven't got anything else to wear that suitable and feel bad this hasn't been worn yet so do want to wear it.

I'd be tempted to get a white wool coat, if you could afford to. Would be warmer than just the cardi for walking, and smarter too, but still summery looking.
