Anyone who dyes their hair with henna... help!

My hair was naturally wavy, and since using henna it's become almost poker straight (ironic, as I used to used GHDs religiously!)

The condition of my hair is the best it's ever been and on the whole I love it - but I don't love the lack of texture.

I've heard adding amla to the mixture can retrieve lost waves/curls, but is this true?

Yes yes to loving henna. No help on the amla front I'm afraid but have definitely experienced a straightening effect since using it (for me particularly desirable as I am currently growing out a hideous perm...)

How long ago did you put it on?

I am sorry I cant help you...

The only thing I can think of i perhaps it hasn't all washed out properly yet (which henna did you use?) - I recently used LUSH henna, and I still sometimes see colour coming out when I wash!

Maybe oil your hair, leave in for a few hours, then wash as normal, maybe it will clear up any residue?

It's body art quality henna from Henna Boy. Been using it for a year or so as I just love the shine/condition - my hair's so completely different to how it used to be with chemical dyes - but I miss the waves and if I curl it it doesn't hold. Might give amla a try anyway.
