Please help my revolting feet!

My feet are pretty grim anyway but my heels are particularly revolting and couldn't get them out in sandals. They are all cracked, peeling and crusty.

I tried a pedi egg but it didn't work.
My DD told me to put my feet in the bin.
Surely Style and Beauty people can help!

Your feet sound like mine 3 weeks ago. I have been using Flexitol Heel Balm twice a day.

I have now invested in a foot file.

Pedi eggs are rubbish.

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 16/04/2012 18:58

Where have you been?! You have missed the revelation that is the Soap and Glory Foot File.

I will find you a link.

5318008 · 16/04/2012 18:58

yy flexitol

also get to a podiatrist

MaeMobley · 16/04/2012 19:01

WoS, I couldn't find one anywhere. The is a great thread.

canyou · 16/04/2012 19:06

I am lazy I put on foot scrub thick sports socks and go to bedhow sexy Hmm and shower the most gross stuff of my feet, I then put a heavy moisturizer on with more sports socks repeat as necessary when DP is working nights

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 16/04/2012 19:07

And also

m.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/1436159-Whoever-reccommended-the-Soap-and-Glory-Foot-File

And yes to Flexitol or any other cream with a high percentage of Urea. Soap and Glory have also advised using lemon juice (app breaks down the bonds that hold the dead skin on - yuk!) But I've not tried that yet.

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 16/04/2012 19:09

canyou I am also of the lazy persuasion Grin that's why I liked the S&G foot file, it wasn't hard work.

MagsAloof · 16/04/2012 19:46

If you have proper cracks, you should bite the bullet and see a chiropodist.

FairPhyllis · 16/04/2012 19:57

I couldn't get the S&G one but I was inspired to get the Diamancel #20 callous file, which was $$$ but it has made a difference to my heels already. Most files don't even touch them.

It might be worth going to a chiropodist to get them back to a manageable state. I did this a few years ago, and it was great - rediscovered nerve endings in my feet I'd forgotten I had.

anniewoo · 16/04/2012 21:37

Definitely go to a chiropodist then keep up the good work.

louwn · 16/04/2012 21:49

I tried the lemon juice before S&G foot file and seemed to help get rid of the offending skin! Heels haven't been kind to my feet but cannot bring myself to wear flats in the office!

Betsyjohnson · 17/04/2012 08:02

Get yourself a ped egg, (foot grater) they are amazing!

valiumredhead · 17/04/2012 08:47

Flexitol - miracle worker.

supernannyisace · 17/04/2012 09:10

I rate the Flexitol stuff too.

Currently on Scholl hard skin cream - that is v good too.

whitelillies · 17/04/2012 10:23

Only prob with smooth feet and revealing the soft skin is when you wear heels again your feet get sore and you hobble ........ Then one has to invest in pretty flats for the handbag for walking .... And of course a larger tote to carry heels when walking ..... Oh the trials of being soft footed Wink

trikken · 17/04/2012 10:33

Agreeing with the s&g foot buffer. Its amazing. Much better than a ped egg.

MerlinFromCamelot · 17/04/2012 12:05

I find that Vaseline (cheap and Cheerful) applied on the heals, especially during the sandal season does wonders. Much cheaper than foot creams. This was once recommended to me by a chiropodist and I haven't bought any foot cream since and haven't had any cracked heels in years. You don't need tons of it. A matchstick will do.

pudding25 · 17/04/2012 20:39

Thanks everyone. I think I may brave a chiropodist first then try some of your ideas.
Poor chiropodist...
