I'm a size 24 Blush with GG boobs and have seen this dress www.idealworld.tv/Cobalt_Sequinned_Shoulder_Mesh_Dress_197783.aspx?fh_location=idealworld/en_GB/categories@lt;%7Bidealworld_1003%7D/clothing_iw@gt;%7Bdresses%7D#

I'm thinking of teaming it with black opaque tights and something like these www.newlook.com/shop/womens/boots/suedette-shoe-boots_241252901

I haven't worn court shoes in forever, so I'd like something that will not fall off my feet.

It's for a Ladies' Night dinner/dance. Any thoughts/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Perhaps I should also mention its next Saturday! (Procrastinate? Moi?!)

I do wonder if your shoe boots will make your legs look shorter and a bit squat. How tall are you? I think you should be aiming for something to elongate the legs - peep toe shoes etc.

Are you going to wear a pashmina / stole / cardigan with the dress?

cybbo · 14/04/2012 23:01

The black opaques and shoe boots might look a little heavy with that chiffony dress unless you have a black jacket/wrap thingy to tie it all togther.

Perhaps shoes like the model is wearing on the page would be better? you could practice walking in them at home before hand!?

ChameleonCircuit · 14/04/2012 23:12

Was going to wear a pashmina type thing to hide the flabby arms. Have just searched for nude peep toes and found these: www.newlook.com/shop/womens/shoes/nudetwinkle-diamante-peep-toe_248562521

My thoughts with the shoe boots and opaques was that the black would merge and perhaps elongate my legs, but I definitely bow to superior knowledge. I usually live in jeans!

Thanks!

Ah, I see what you mean about black and black - apologies, I didn't twig. I do think that peep toes would be better. The shoes you've linked to look quite high (but hell, I live in flats so anything above half an inch frightens me!). Maybe a slightly lower heel would be better if you're not used to them, given you'll be dancing.

Also, what colour pashmina will you be wearing? If you're going to wear black tights and black shoes with that dress, maybe black would be good (I am usually found in jeans too, but dress up on occasion and am a similar size to you).

Oh, and stating the obvious, but wear some bloody good shapewear. It works wonders, and will definitely stop you looking like your granny.

Oh, I am a big advocate of a decent bra -I'm a Bravissimo girl. I also have some pull yer belly in shorts, but I wonder if they might show up under the dress.

As if I wasn't in a big enough panic, the dress now says 'up to ten days' for delivery. Has anyone seen something similar anywhere?

Simply Be has the most similar dresses. If you can't find anything suitable, worth looking at Evans - I know everyone knocks them but they have some fab Clements Ribeiro dresses in at the moment.

porkypine · 15/04/2012 00:09

Also have a look at Marisota - they do next day delivery. Good luck!

FauxFox · 15/04/2012 07:11

Asos does next day delivery and returns are easy so get a few and return the ones you don't want. Ho wabout
black lace sleeves
navy wrap
coral
one shoulder
floral long sleeve
and get this for summer too because it is so cute with a denim jacket and sandals Smile
