T shirts for the fuller figure

Where can I get sensibly priced t shirts that don't shrink in the wash and fit me?

I want something to accomodate a larger than average bust, tummy that has suffered the birth of two children and never been the same since! I have quite a long body so most options are either totally enormous and very unflattering or too tight and too short which does n't look good either.

No replies! Does the perfect t-shirt not exist?

Bubble-hem tops are good - Matalan normally have some. Not sure if its the type you're looking for but its the style that suits me and covers my tummy!

Dorothy Perkins are quite good for basic longer length t shirts. So are Sainsburys.

It's not what you want to hear, but blouses are much more flattering than t-shirts. I have almost completely given up on t-shirts...

GAP, "the new V neck t-shirt'. Used to be called favourite t-shirt, but seems to have changed name. Reasonably long and flattering. Doesn't shrink much in the wash, but don't tumble dry.

Bubble hem with a large bust will make you look like Mama Cass. Be seen with a ham sandwich and you'll never shake it. Vile things (not ham sandwiches). Frumpy in extremis.

Depends how large, but I find Esprit flattering as they tend to have a waist.

Uniquo are rubbish IMO for larger busts

AlderTree · 16/04/2012 20:26

Thanks all, will make the effort to go the big sainsbury's and larger DP store our local ones are tiny with hardly anyhting in them. My next question is colours. What colours are essential? I always end up with random colours that don't go with anything. I usually go for dark grey or navy bottoms.

Bubble hem - never heard of these. I agree blouse much more flattering but not ideal for the gym etc.

Great thread! I'm the same - longer body and need to cover tummy! Average length T-shirts look awful on me, but it's really hard to find nice T-shirts and tops in a longer length, you really have to search for them.

I've had a few things from the NEXT tall range, and previous seasons at Sainsburys although I can't find anything long-length there at the moment.

Tried Long Tall Sally but the T-shirts don't seem any longer than from any other shop - seems their clothes are for women with long legs and average-length bodies rather than the other way round!
