Help me find a dress for my DD's christening!

Hi All,

I need to find a dress for my DD's christening next month. I have no idea what kind of dress to go for I have been looking and looking so please help me!

I am quite tall and a size 12-14 with blonde hair/ fair skin

I am torn between the idea of a maxi dress with wedges or a strapless fitted dress with heels and a wrap/pashmina. If it's strapless i want it to come to roughly my knee all I can find are knicker skimming ones! I quite like the thought of a navy drapey strapless dress but can't find one.

I'm young so nothing too old fashioned please! :)

PS I don't really want black!!

Thanks xx

Thanks themild I like the last one and the colours of the others.

I guess your probably right about the shoulders. I want to be formal but not too formal IYSWIM as we're having the christening then I've hired a hall where we are having a bbq in the garden area and probably a few silly party games for the adults as it's a party for her christening and 1st birthday - sorry I drip fed a bit there.

Plus i'd like to be able to wear it again.

I think some of those are a bit too evening-y tbh, I would go for a summery day dress, knee-length or maxi as you prefer. Wouldn't wear strapless, but sleeveless is probably fine and you can wear a cardi or something in the church if you want to cover up a bit.

What sort of budget are you thinking of?

RhiRhi123 · 13/04/2012 15:18

I would like something summery I think Ephiny up to about £120 I think.

Actually. I think I am going to try the second one on. I've thought about it and i've decided it would look nice with pretty flip flops once I kick off the heels and also be really versatile for the rest of the summer for day bbq's or evenings etc.

Thanks!

I was just thinking Phase Eight might be a good place to look, lots of lovely summer dresses in at the moment! Good luck with the shopping :)
