sports bra for huge boobs?

DD2 is in the unfortunate position of having massive boobs.. poor kid is only a 28 back but a J cup (think Dolly Parton figure!) and her current sports bra just isn't supportive enough (a bravissimo one) but we can't find anything else that goes big enough cup size and small enough in the back. She is an exercise fanatic and could really do with something that stops them hitting herself in the chin!

If anyone has any suggestions we would be very grateful!

I have always found the sports ones at Bravissimo quite good.

Royce?

Panache do good sports bras but don't know what back size is like.

Butwhatdoyoudoallday · 12/04/2012 18:22

I'm a 30G so a bit smaller of bust but larger of back than your DD but with similar issues. I use an Enell when I run, and it's amazing at keeping everything still. She might get on with the 00 sized one. It's odd, but so supportive. I also rate the Freya Active sports bra, but find the back comes up quite small, so though they only go up to an H cup she might get on with the 30H.

The trick I was taught is to wear two to really minimise bouncing. Ie one shaped, probably wired one with a proper bra back, then one of those ones that look like a crop top but are more supportive and better shaped over the top. It honestly works and doesn't look weird.

this one is very very good - it only goes up to an HH but the back on it is exceptionally narrow, I have always had to size up in the back and down in the cup with them. So worth a try, they are often available on ebay. I wore this at a 30j (wore 32hh) and it was sturdy enough.

I've found this one for you it is 28J brand New only available in black in her size

Butwhatdoyoudoallday... how do you work out the sizing? (just ordered a catalogue) I just showed DD and she agreed the Enell looks pretty good!

New panache one with underwiring is SERIOUSLY fab. I have huge boobs and it keeps them in check while I'm in the gym and I can fit my iphone in there while I'm doing weights

I love my Enell. By far the best sports bra I have ever had. I can jump up and down and they barely move at all!

Lostinsuffolk · 12/04/2012 20:46

I've used shock absorber bras and they were great. Do small sizes to as I'm a 28e. Very snug fit and comfy. :)

My sister wears two sports bras at a time, which she swears by.

There's a size chart here but it's a bit trial and error tbh. I wear the 00, though going by the chart I should wear the 0 which was huge on me. I expect that given her back size the 00 will be the only one suitable for her, and her boobs will kind of squish down into it (glamourous it isn't). One other reason I love it is that I've had mine for eons and it hasn't worn out yet - they are industrial in their quality!

I was wearing mine tonight and one of my friends commented on how small my boobs looked - it really does squish them to nowhere. I expect that might be a plus for your DD as she's sporty and big chested.
