What to wear to a christening?

We have just received an invite to a christening in June. I presume it's not as formal as a wedding but would it still be smart dress? I'm size 14 with a wobbly tummy - any recommendations?

You can wear whatever you like to church, but I imagine what you really need to dress up for is the party afterwards.

Given that it is June, a pretty summer dress would be lovely.
