Ok, I don't care how much I spend (well I do sort of but I'm desperate) if I find a pair that is flattering. I will pay over £100 if they actually look good.

I have real trouble buying jeans because I have a size 12 waist and 12/14 hips, and treetrunkily sturdy chunky, fat, whatever you want to call them, go for it I'm beyond caring legs.

Anyway I now own nice casual blazer - I now need nice jeans in a nice smart denim to go with them. So please tell me which brands you find good, if slightly queasy spending your money on.

Next and Gap don't work for me although that is what I am currently wearing I can literally take the jeans off without unbuttoning them if I buy for my hips.

Was wondering about NYDJ from John Lewis website ....... but then they say to go down a size and I'm not sure how they work.

Even Gap curvy jeans? I have much bigger bum than waist and big thighs and they are perfect.

Also I haven't tries them but Levi's have a new range out called Curve ID - you can go and get them fitted for your proportions. About £70 I think.

Will go and try - haven't ventured in Gap for a couple of years ...... thanks!

Levis ID curve are great. I wish I'd found them years ago.

If you are after a bootleg style, the very best ones that I have come across to deal with the problem you have (in addition to the Gap curvy as mentioned above) are the Oasis Scarlet ones - they come in different leg lengths and the indigo colour is the most flattering. I have put lots of ladies in them who had given up on jeans. The Hobbs bootleg ones are also really good too and there is currently 20% off with Woman & Home magazine. NYDJ have lots of lycra in so snug both the waist and the hips without any gaping, so could also be worth a try as you thought. Hope that your quest is successful!

Ok reporting back - NYDJ are the only ones with absolutely no gape and great despite the eye watering price.

Hobbs are pretty good fit too, but still gape unfortunately - but higher waist so at least they won't gape into builder's bum if I bend down!

I think for my proportions, having the stretch is a good thing. But I am going to try and track down the Oasis Scarlet.

Thanks for the suggestions - I buy tops from Hobbs but it would never have occurred to me to buy their jeans.
