It largely depends on your shape etc but Not Your Daughter's Jeans are great (stocked at John Lewis). If you have the time I would go to Donna Ida in London who specialises in fitting jeans - her staff will take one look at you and know which style to put you in. If you take a look at the blog - the Online Stylist - you can see that she went there recently to have some jeans fitted and she included pics of how they go about it. Hope that helps.

Definitely go to Donna Ida if in London or you can send them a photo of yourself and they'll help remotely.

I personally find NYDJ a bit 'mature' but like MIH, Paige, J Brand, Hudson at the moment - I am a bit of a denim addict Blush

Once you know which brand/style you like its possible to get them a lot cheaper from sites like shopbop and revolve.

cheers, I was thinkin of Donna but forgot name. I am thinking approx £200 for a decent pair, gulp!!!!

That's pretty standard but you'd probably get them for 50-60% of that from www.shopbop.com

How tall? I just found the PERFECT jeans for me - apple-ish shape, 36" inseam. They're Goldsign. AND you can size down.

I went to the Donna Ida in Guildford a few weeks ago. They fitted me with James Jeans which are really lovely and so comfy. I wanted high waist and straight leg. They were £200 though. But I have worn them so much already I know I didn't make a mistake.

Go to Donna Ida, or Selfridges. Try on everything. Buy from shop bop.

Once you go premium, you won't look back!

alwaysrunninginheels · 10/04/2012 18:19

But it does become rather addictive!!!!! Premium jeans just knock the socks off the rest. Be warned this could be a serious addiction.....but worth every penny. Happy shopping!!!!

I love james jeans and acne, hate mih.
Go to Donna Ida!

For what you're after, prob J Brand is decent bet. [I like 7 For All Mankind myself, but am short & like low rise bootcut Grin)

Key thing is a good fit & I think a bit of stretch helps.

If you have a decent department store (I went to Harvey Nichols then went back for the jeans on a discount night Smile) try loads on & take someone you can trust to give an honest opinion.

Also, try stuff you might not. I ended up buying flairs having been convinced they were a no-no for women my height but couldn't argue with the fact that they were fab on.

thnaks ladies, I live in west London so am NOT short on places to go, clearly they are worth the investment, saving time ! xx
