Help me come up with a smart/casual look for next Saturday! Please!

I'm off out in the city next Saturday for drinks but going out through the day back home late'ish evening. Think the consensus is for smart casual wear but what to wear?! I'm sick of the black skinnies/top combo which I wear to everything. Would love a lovely spring outfit but I'm a bit clueless about what to buy.
If it helps I am 37, between size 10-12 but carrying a bit of post-pregnancy weight round the tummy. Would love to wear something completely different for a change and which might give me a bit of confidence too. Maybe something a bit feminine too as I tend to live in jeans. I'm a single mum and would love to go out next week feeling a wee bit glam but not OTT as I rarely get the chance to go out.
Anyone like to help me?

Bumping for you as I would love some style suggestions for a smart/casual weekend outfit too. Where is everyone?!

What about something like this?

It's still jeans but pastels make it more feminine. I'd take a pair of heels for the evening.

How about cigarette pants or smart chinos instead of jeans? A nice top, dress it up with some nice accessories or a pretty scarf? Cigarette pants work well with heels or flats.

Thank you for the replies. Love the blazer from Zara so much I just ordered it! Thank you MissBehiving.
I love the pastel jeans but think I may get them a bit cheaper elsewhere? Splashed out on the blazer but dont think I could stretch to another £40 for the jeans too. Can anyone suggest cheaper versions?
Oh and Milky what are cigarette pants? Sorry for my ignorance!

Primark have some pale pink skinnies in at the moment and H&M have some lovely trousers in those ice cream type colours in at the mo.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 08/04/2012 21:52

I have these in two colours and they are pretty high in the waist The colours shown are less vibrant IRL

If you go for pink jeans then this scarf is lovely and the green one has a pale pink running through it]]

They are slim fitting, higher waisted trousers that are narrow in the leg and ankle grazer length. I find them very flattering as they come up slightly higher in waist so hold my wobbly tummy in and as I'm not very tall they suit me better than looser style trousers! Sorry not the best description!

You guys rock! I would never have known about the lovely pastel colours and they are feminine without being too girly.
Are there any links for cigarette pants? And would they go with the blazer?
also liking the H&M jeans too

Sorry I can't link from my phone, I'm sure some would come up if you do a quick google search. Basically they are nice slim leg trousers so I can't see why they wouldn't look good with a blazer! Actually perhaps I should get a nice blazer ...

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 08/04/2012 22:14

Here

I'll try to find some cheaper ones. They'll be fine with a blazer.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 08/04/2012 22:26

Not cigarette pants but great colour

milkybrew · 08/04/2012 22:26

Mine were from H&M, think they were only about £20 a pair. I have navy ones and khaki ones, but they had loads of colours! I bought them quite recently so they should still be in store. HTH, sorry for no links though!
