I have fallen in love with a dress that was linked on mn a few weeks ago. Then I saw it (and its beeoootiful hybrids) in a shop yesterday. I wouldn't usually pay this much for a dress but I think I'd luff it forever...

This style?

Or this style?

I'm a size 14-16 but have lost weight recently and am aiming for a comfortable 14 (big norks). Am also tall (5' 9")

Am pale-skinned with dark blonde hair. And if i choose the shift over the tea-dress, should I go for coral or green?

I prefer the second link. But I prefer the green colour.

HappyGirlNow · 05/04/2012 10:53

Definitely the second coral one.

cronsilksilt · 05/04/2012 10:54

2nd dress in green
what a fab site!

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 05/04/2012 11:02

Tea dress getting more votes! Even on my trunky body?

Still no better off for colour choice... Will coral clash with my pale skin or perk my deathly pallor up?

coral is lovely on Sunny days

HettyKett · 05/04/2012 11:41

tea dress

Wouldn't the blue work best with your coloring?

dexter73 · 05/04/2012 12:02

I like the first one in coral. The second is too frilly for me.

higgle · 05/04/2012 12:14

I like the shift dress too - coral is lovely - also in the blouse which ;I'm tempted to buy to brighten up my autumn wardrobe.

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 05/04/2012 12:16

Hmm yes think I agree about frilly. I don't want to look like David Walliams...

Actually blue is one of my worst colours - think it's because of skin colour. I'm naturally a brunette but I have very fair eyelashes & look better with dark blonde highlights & a bit of warmth.

Think the shift dress might be better overall as I have no waist to speak of and tea dress might make me feel a bit self-conscious of belly.

I could always order both types in coral and send one back...

Agree, higgle. Coral would look good in autumn too.

The green is a nicer colour but the coral is probably much nicer on. I like the first dress, second one too fussy for me.

A deeper blue would be nicer.

Bloody hell, how many 'nicer's can you get in one post?

Yama · 05/04/2012 12:28

I want this.

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 12/04/2012 08:18

Update: I bought the green shift.

Oh dear Sad

Firstly, for £5 'handling' & postage, it arrived in a very small plastic post bag, no other packaging, no posh tissue, no box, etc. almost like an eBay package. I know they're independent designers but still, for £85 all-in...

The fabric is gorgeous, that much is true.

However, dress look awful on. Neckline spoilt by the bar going across. Shape of top half gave me a Uni-nork; really not a good look.

Sooooooo disappointed (not least to be having to pay for the return). Meh!

Liz Price does nice dresses, Lotte and Pepita are lovely for your shape - ver similar to me. ;)

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 12/04/2012 09:12

Thanks madammecholet (I had a stuffed madam cholet when I was little!)

Nice dresses on that link. I think I'd fallen in love with the gorgeous fabrics more than anything. I can't help I, I think I might go for the one Yama linked

Pinkflipflop · 12/04/2012 09:36

Second one is gorgeous!

Pinkflipflop · 12/04/2012 09:37

Ok just read they are horrible-oh dear.

PleaseChooseAnotherNN · 12/04/2012 09:45

I like the 2nd one in coral, no idea what colour would suit you best though sorry.

oneofsuesylvesterscheerios · 13/04/2012 13:17

Three cheers for the website: I contacted them about waiving the p&p if I sent the 1st one back and order a replacement and they agreed straight away.

I've ordered the midnighteal one Yama linked to
