Brothers wedding - what to wear???

My brother is getting married in 2 weeks and I stilll havent got a dress to wear so I am now panicing.
I recently separated with my husband of 13 years and have since lost nearly 2 stone in weight so am a size 10 for the first time since having my 3 monsters.
I want a dress that shows off my efforts (but not like I am on the pull iykwim) and that fits in with the wedding party but refects my age (30). It is a large OTT bash at a castle and my girls are flowergirls.

I thought either a really fitted style like

or

or something really full and floaty

as you can see I have no idea..............

the only thing I know is I want a big hat! lol!

I am only 5ft 2 so will also get large pair of heels (and put my happy feet in my bag for later).

Any advice would be fab as I havent got many friends about my age they are all much older and shop in place my Mum shops in (no offence to Jacque Vert fans intended).

Get a fab 50s style Vivien of Holloway with a poufy coloured petticoat - goes nicely with killer heels in the day, then also looks cute with ballet pumps for evening dancing.

I love the Karen Millen dress, maybe in a different colour for a wedding if you dont want to stand out ? Or you could tone it down with a hat and shrug or shawl .The hobbs dress is really nice as well. Get yourself to the shops and try them on ! I am sure they will look great!

So you are young, slim and newly single? Sister of the groom and mother of the bridesmaids? At an OTT wedding in a castle??? Darn right, you want to stand out!!!! You go for it......

Thank you all so much. I have lurked on this site for ages and this was my first post - but certainly wont be my last.

KristinaM you have made my day - what a positive way to look at life.

Do you think it is okay to wear red to a wedding? Was thinking perhaps a large cream hat, cream shoes and a cream shawl incase it gets cold. We are talking about weather in Scotland after all.

The Karen Millen Dress also comes in teal but not sure what colour I would use with it. Any ideas?

Thanks
Kayx

If you want fitted and sexy have a look at the Davina dress at LK Bennett - I have 2! Tis utterly fabulous Grin

I hired a dress from wish want wear for a recent wedding. I highly recommend them, they send you two sizes and you only pay for the one you wear. I got to wear a Temperley dress that I could never afford to buy.

Red is a fantastic colour to wear to a wedding.I hope there are soem gorgeous unattached blokes there tooGrin

Im assuming that the service and teh reception are all in the castle so you wont have to go outside, except for the photos? Otherwise you WILL need a jacket. Scottish weather is very unpredictable. It was 22degrees in march and snowing this week

You should probably have small cardis or boleros for your DDs if the photos are going to be outside. Furshrugs and cardis here in bhsfor £15

I like teal and violet, but it depends on your colouring.

If you wanted a prom style dress Pepperberry do a great one. I've bought it for a wedding in May and got a great little fitted jacket in H&M to go with it:

The red fitted dress is fab and perfect for showing of your new figure. With cream would be good, or ivory or light grey also. NOT with black.
