Why do I look so crap in jeans?! Camel toe alert!

Hello ladies.

Firstly, this isn't just a problem I have with jeans, it's pretty much every pair of trousers, but jeans are definitely the worst.

I've got long legs, a high waist, I have curvyish hips, but no shape to my thighs. Because of my high waist if I don't pull up my jeans I get the muffin top, but when I do that I get the hidiously unsightly camel toe. I hate it! It's so unattractive. Also, because I have such a little bum the material kind of goes up like a thong. Again, NOT attractive.

I can't just ditch the trousers and stick to skirts because in the summer i'd be going bare legged and i've got very pale skin and thick dark hair, which means it takes me forever to shave and i'm always left with horrible a shaving rash.

So, has anyone got any tips on how to avoid this or if there are any magic trousers specifically designed for this problem. Just knowing i'm not the only one might helpGrin

Thank you!

I would go with a muffin over a camel toe. Maybe just wear a looser top so that the muffin isn't as noticeable?

cocolepew · 03/04/2012 20:51

Wear a pantliner.

dexter73 · 03/04/2012 20:53

Confused How would that help cocolepew?

ThePathanKhansWitch · 03/04/2012 20:56

Its because you have a high waist, there's not enough cut in the fabric. I would advise going to a TKMaxx where they'll hundreds of brands of Jeans. Grab a load and see how you go.

I have a massive arse but a tiny waist, found Earl Jeans in TKMaxx and I just love them.

BellaVita · 03/04/2012 20:57

It would sort of cushion it dexter and make a barrier.

carrotsandcelery · 03/04/2012 20:58

Does it help at all to wear clothes designed for taller women? It sounds like you need trousers with a longer body so there is more length in it.

Have you tried high waisted jeans?

cocolepew · 03/04/2012 20:58

What Bella said Smile It gives a flatter appearance.

oreoaddict · 03/04/2012 21:02

Well actually when i'm on it is less noticiable but I never thought about wearing one all the time.

I agree a muffin top is better than camel toe, but i'm constantly pulling my trousers up or down to go somewhere in the middle so I get neither...........doesn't work though.

Why do I have such a bloody akward shape?!

Thanks for explaining Grin!!

ThePathanKhansWitch · 03/04/2012 21:04

Coco Bella Camel cushion gap (pardon the pun) in the market.Grin.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 03/04/2012 21:05

oreo You don't! Clothes aren't cut properly especially mass produced.

oreoaddict · 03/04/2012 21:08

I haven't tried many pairs of highwaisted trousers, but the ones I did try looked shit to be fair. I will definitely try on more though cos it's been suggested before. Maybe i just tried on rubbish ones.

Believe it or not there are "products" for this problem. I heard about them on Mumsnet. It looks like a hard plastic pantliner which the person puts in their pants to provide a barrier.

Hopefully someone will link to one soon for you.

Bletchley · 03/04/2012 21:09

You either need a different style or a size bigger with a belt, I think.

dexter73 · 03/04/2012 21:09

That sounds really uncomfortable and sweaty Sad

ThePathanKhansWitch · 03/04/2012 21:10

Carrots that sounds uncomfortable, like walking around with a saddle in your knickers. Sorry I'd rather have a Camel.

I do hope someone links.

carrotsandcelery · 03/04/2012 21:10

anything here helpful?

Bunbaker · 03/04/2012 21:10

Low rise jeans are the pits aren't they. In Meadowhall today we saw a woman sitting down in the eating area, with a massive bum cleavage. She must have had about 4 inches on show! It was gross.

carrotsandcelery · 03/04/2012 21:11

It does sound horrid.

oreoaddict · 03/04/2012 21:14

Thanks ThePathanSmile It just gets me sooooo frustrated!

Actually I have tried something called Smooth Groove. Which is basically like a fanny shieldGrin At first I was amazed, but after walking for about 10 seconds it was sliding everywhere........ It's in the bin now.

oreoaddict · 03/04/2012 21:16

Bunbaker, that does sound horrilbe! Surely she knew though.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 03/04/2012 21:19

I think it was Smooth Groove that was on Mumsnet. Oh well! I am sort of glad it was rubbish because it sounds like some sort of torture.

What about tunics and leggings? Long tops over your jeans?

oreoaddict · 03/04/2012 21:19

Thanks carrot

ThePathanKhansWitch · 03/04/2012 21:19

Oreo that has cracked me up! A fanny shield! Grin

Don't you dare put yourself through that torture again. You will find jeans that are good for you, my guess is you'll end up paying a bit more for them.

oreoaddict · 03/04/2012 21:22

I'm starting to wear more long tops now, but they can make me look a little unbalanced if they don't flow out a little at the bottom cos i've got broad shoulders aswell. Basically i'm an icecream coneSad
