Red, blotchy skin remedy anyone?

I think I have to pay now for having been a spotless teenager... Lately the skin on my nose is looking red and blotchy, a bit like an alcoholics nose but without the drinking . I normally use a tinted moisturiser and a concealer, but that's just not enough. Any ideas as to either get rid off the blotchiness or hide it successfully, make-up gurus, please?

Pretty sure that's rosacea. Don't hide it, get rid of it. See a GP for either oral tetracycline or erythromycin lotion. The pills worked best for me but came off them for conception and pregnancy as not compatible. The pills took a couple of weeks to work really well, the lotion about three weeks.

Hm. I don't seem to have any of the other symptoms, but I'll mention it to my GP. Thanks for the hint!

I had redness, dayglo o occasion, and recurring spots despite being well beyond teenage years. Antibiotics fixed itt. If it is rosacea then your even more borderline a case than I was but if you treat it, then it gets better, noyt worse.

me too and i've now switched to mac prep and prim spf 50 to stop it worsening as heat and sun makes it far worse. As for concealing....tinted moisturiser never cuts it for me. I have to use a combination of powders, concealers and foundation. A right pain in the morning when rushing for work! I use a vichy concealer that stays put really well and pat it on the worse areas after foundation and before powder. I sometimes touch up during the day but only with a miniscule amount. I use a foundation brush then tend to dab on concealer with finger (though i know i should stop being lazy and use a brush for that too) it's a lot of faffing but at least i face the world red free
I like Gosh and Armani foundations at the moment (i use the Gosh one on cheap days ie not going to work!)
Tinted moist's won't cut it for rosacea and in fact anything slightly glowy isnt going to help....for me anyway . I also dab mattifier over top of everything...the less shiny i look, the better, as it just seems to emphasis any redness breaking through (to be honest, if applied correctly i don't get redness breaking through, not usually, but if i have a really hectic mad day it could, and as for gym....it's going to happen !) mattifier just takes the edge off it and calms it

Lush's Aqua Marina does calm it down quite a bit for me, nice to use when not in a rush, makeup and moisturiser feels great going on afterwards

Skin Food from John Lewis or Amazon and hide it with Bisque from Bare Minerals, but see your Gp as well.

Thanks for your advice! I think I'll have a chat with GP first before I embark on a new make-up regime...
