Best pain relief for bikini wax ( to take before )

Nurofen, paracetamol or cocodamol ?
Last one I had was AWFUL . I cried and swore . Arrgh!

I'm training as a therapist, and our tutor always says if it's a very good therapist doing it the pain should be minimal, ensure when they are doing it either them or yourself pulls the skin taunt.. Paracetamol is also a good option! X

It really shouldn't hurt that much.

I have brazilians at the strip wax bar in Harvey Nichols and its more discomfort than pain. I'd find a different therapist and make sure they use the hot strip wax as opposed to the wax they then rip off with fabric strips.

I know it shouldn't hurt but it really did :(
My sister and her friends go to where I'm going tonight.
We'll see how I cope. I may have to get her to stop half way through !

I hope I am not too late and if I am, that your wax went well. As a pharmacist may I offer some advice? EMLA cream is fab. It costs around £9 for a tiny tube. You apply a on the area to be waxed 15-30 mins before your wax and WASH YOUR HANDS afterwards. It is a local anesthetic and you shouln't feel much at all during the wax.

Or if you want to take pain relief tablets, something like Nurofen or aspirin, as long as you're not allergic. These are anti-inflammatory, so as well as easing the discomfort a bit, it dampens the red dots you get (well, at least I get them), so they're not so bad and go away faster.
