Have just done an olive oil and sugar scrub....

And I feel like a new woman. Am now minus all that winter dullness and am gleaming, I tell you, gleaming.

So the bathroom is covered in sugar; will deal with it later.

Any more excellent tips?

I used to do egg in hair, but since the scrambled hair incident, dare not try it again.

Oh I like the sound of the oil and sugar scrub, how much of each did you use?

Justfeckingdoit · 28/03/2012 12:35

Embarrassed to say a slug of each :) don't really do measuring.

Prob a bit more sugar than oil, but not much.

And when I say gleaming, I don't mean in a weird twilight way, just a bit less manky :)

my tip is never do the sugar scrub in the bath, unless you like being riddled with thrush!

Pinot · 28/03/2012 14:43

olive oil is amazing on cuticles, on feet before bed (under socks), as an intensive hair treatment...

formerdiva · 28/03/2012 16:21

I tried the dispersible aspirin as a face mask tip from the thread. Amazing! Dissolved 4 in a drop of water and mashed it up with some sudocream (not very succesfully). My skin looked brilliant afterwards - like I'd had a facial.

Next experiment will be the gelatine eye treatment...

Justfeckingdoit · 28/03/2012 16:28

madmomma owwwwww did mine before, then had a bath

pinot have just whacked some on my nails, and hey presto, less manky!

formadiva keep thinking about trying it, but wimp out. So it really works?

hmmm aspirin mashed up with sudocrem sounds hilarious but what have i got to lose...something i can try 2nite after baby gets out of my bath...

formerdiva · 28/03/2012 20:10

Justfeckingdoit/jan2011 - honest, I looked gorgeous afterwards .

But the big revelation has been OCM. My husband has been telling his friends how great my skin is, so much so that one of his mates ran out to buy some castor oil (and seriously, metrosexuality has yet to hit my neck of the woods. They're not the type who usually swap skin are tips!)

Ooh, I love Mumsnet

jan2011 · 28/03/2012 20:42

hey...
i just tried it..and my skin is proper glowing! i told my dh and he said its cos aspirin has blue mold in it (?!) anyway im really impressed. what i loved about it was not having to skimp when putting it on as i do when im putting other expensive masks on, just stick loads on it was a brill feeling, and i put almond oil on afterwards and i do look younger!

i always moisterise my face with oils, but never without cleansing first...for some reason i feel im just rubbing the dirt round my face. every time ive tried it i never get all the dirt off, so i just use a face wash, and then oil. seems to have good results :)

ICutMyFootOnOccamsRazor · 28/03/2012 20:45

Ooh where is this free beauty tips thread of which you speak? Link pleeeeease.

HazleNutt · 28/03/2012 20:51

blue mold? I would rather guess because aspirin is acid, so works like chemical peel.

SunshineOutdoors · 28/03/2012 22:13

It's me! It's me!

Although the luffs should really go to the people who answered, rather than the skint one who asked.

Dh is away tonight so I'm going to try the overnight sudocrem face mask

SunshineOutdoors · 28/03/2012 22:15

this is the thread

SunshineOutdoors · 28/03/2012 22:17

I will do the olive oil on feet in socks too.

ICutMyFootOnOccamsRazor · 28/03/2012 22:18

Thanks v. much for the link! That's my evening's entertainment sorted.

I was a bit agog at the Sudocrem as a primer tip I seen on MN, but tonight I thought I'd give Sudocrem a go as a treatment for my pimply chin.

It gave me a lovely lilac-y white hue Grin but after 10 mins had completely absorbed and I SWEAR my chin looks clearer and less red already. I'm now going to slap some all over my face before I get into bed.

catinboots · 29/03/2012 10:00

I swear by the sudocrem facemask. Have done it for years.

Justfeckingdoit · 29/03/2012 10:36

former oh have caster oil in bathroom

And summer thank you! Still feel squeaky clean a day later :)

Justfeckingdoit · 29/03/2012 10:38

catinboots have a fecking massive tub that I used once for DD some sudocreme too. Might wait until DP is away though.

Or maybe not

formerdiva · 29/03/2012 11:53

justfeckingdoit - it's luuuurvely. But don't do it before reading the OCM thread - tonnes of tips on there (like castor oil is good for spotty skin, but not for dry).

jan2011 · 30/03/2012 10:39

what else can you do with castor oil apart from the olm anyone?

valiumredhead · 30/03/2012 17:23

You can bin it jan it's vile stuff Grin
