Help!
What brand do you recommend to wear with ballet pumps.
The ones I have bought in the past (sockettes?) show and I want it hidden?
Or what do people do?
Not wear anything? Won't it smell pretty quickly??

Think xmyboys means what do you wear inside ballet pumps - socks/ sockettes (and what brand of them)....watching with interest as I dont like to wear shoes without socks either

xmyboys · 27/03/2012 10:46

Ok after some googling they are called:
Sockettes
Cotton Liners
Invisible socks
Footsies

But which do you recommend so they don't show??

I don't wear anything, but then wear leather lined ballerinas; every day btw

KeepingAwayFromTheJoneses · 27/03/2012 10:54

I think it depends how sweaty your feet are. I get terrible blisters if I don't wear socks so I can't wear ballet flats. I have never found anything low enough to wear inside them.

MissFoodie · 27/03/2012 11:16

if the leather is really soft you shouldn't ever get blisters

CointreauVersial · 27/03/2012 13:32

I've never worn sockettes, although I can see they would prevent rubbing etc. Not had a problem with stinky feet, though.

CointreauVersial · 27/03/2012 13:33

And MissFoodie, if you have rubbish buniony feet like mine, then quite a few shoes give you blisters! Ballet pumps are a particular challenge, as the fashionable ones are all cut so low at the sides.

flightofthe7millionbumblebees · 27/03/2012 15:10

I don't wear anything in mine. They're leather lined and soft and I don't get blisters (tough feet maybe!) They don't smell, but I do make sure I leave them 24 hours before wearing them again so they can 'dry out' (ew). I also wash my feet after getting home after a day of wearing them just in case they do smell.

MrsHoarder · 27/03/2012 15:14

If I'm wearing trousers than I wear knee high stocking things like www.uktights.com/product/937/pretty-polly-silver-fresh-medium-support-knee-high--2pp-this. With a skirt or dress once its warm enough to not wear tights I go barefoot.

sleepingbunny · 27/03/2012 15:15

I have found that the trick is to buy 'insoles' from Boots or similar. Put them in straight away. Then when they smell you can wash them, and the flats are fine. Also much comfier.

KeepingAwayFromTheJoneses · 27/03/2012 16:48

Where can I get some nice soft leather lined ones? I had some Bloch and they just about killed me. Is there anything cheaper than French Sole or Pretty Ballerinas? I don't fancy another expensive mistake.

Ben10NeverAgain · 05/04/2012 11:22

bumping to find out some recommendations for leather lined ballerinas that won't break the bank!

anniewoo · 05/04/2012 12:49

Ara shoes have nice pumps.slight heel. Nicer than some of the Gabor ones

drywhiteplease · 05/04/2012 19:49

I think Primark have v soft 100% leather ballerinas for £12 in loads of colours.at that price you could even buy two in the same odour and alternate.
