Can you recommend a good quality white t shirt, short sleeve and long sleeve?

I wear these a lot and am looking to get some better quality ones. So I'm looking for thicker cotton and with a bit of shape to them, so they go in at the waist rather than straight up and down.

I've bought from all the usual places. M and S , the sleeves are always too short. Quite like Uniqulo ones.

I would be looking at about the £30 -£40 price range.

Thanks Smile

I got this one in white and I'm very happy with it - thick cotton, not see-through, nice shape.

Have you looked at Boden, kew, Jigsaw (though theirs tend to be very fine), White Stuff, the White Company ( deffo).

Isabella Oliver 365 t shirts are fab quality!

Mistral was not good quality. That was my last try at a ls one. My SeaSalt short sleeve one is holding up well, as is my one from John Lewis' own range.

Thanks, I will have a look at these. May have to get over my Boden aversion though Blush.

There is an American brand that's supposed to be fab for t shirts but racking my addled brain has been fruitless. Is it Cotton Somethingorother? ..... California Somethingorother?

Very under budget, but Banana Republic t shirts are fab, I think. I have the timeless v neck t shirt - it looks fairly straight up and down on the model, but I am an hourglass and it definitely goes in at the waist because normal t shirts just make me look horrid and this defines my shape properly.

Way under budget, but have you looked at Sainsburys? They have very nice plain t-shirts. Nearly everything else is shapeless or throwaway fashion, but their t shirts are perfect for me at least.

I like Splendid, American Vintage or Vince for basic Ts. Maybe a bit over budget but worth watching out for in NAP/my wardrobe sales...

Were you thinking of American Apparel?

Thanks for these recommendations. I'll have a look.

Under budget is good. My favourite long sleeved t's were from Asda, lovely shape, washed really well and slight boat neck. But too thin to wear without something on top.

Dotty P short sleeved T shirts are fab.

MadAboutHotChoc · 26/03/2012 12:31

Noa Noa's t-shirts are fab quality - I'm wearing one right now, its pretty thick and was only £20.

I also saw some decent ones in Fat Face for a similar price.
