Black dress for wedding?

I am breast feeding a 4 month old and have finally found a smart dress I can wear to my brother's wedding...but it's black!

I have a cream and black hat, cream shrug and wrap and can get cream shoes...

Ok or not?

I'd have thought so, especially with the accessories you have.

I went to a wedding recently where 2 women were wearing black dresses. One got lots of complements, hers was floaty and knee length i think. The other wore a tight, body-con style dress. Looked good, but there were a few 'desperate housewife' comments..

Sure you'd be fine though.

I don't know, I don't think cream is exciting enough to jolly it up. I wore a black dress to the last wedding I went to but had bright pink on my hat and matching flower brooch thingy. And a dark green shrug in the evening instead of black day jacket.

I think black is fine for weddings - anything is really accept floor length white with a veil Wink

I wore a black dress to the last wedding I went to. I wore it with a black over sized fascinator thing in my hair, a cream angora bolero, leopard print shoes and clutch. Think black is perfectly acceptable at weddings these days.

Thank goodness!

I was wondering about another colour rather than cream but the hat was very persuasive!

I have worn black a few times to a wedding, one dress of mine a few times, i just team up with something brighter.
