Help! I shrank my favourite dress!

I washed a 100% cotton dress according to the washing instructions, and it appears to have got about an inch shorter and slightly wider... It's a stretchy jersey cotton, like heavy t-shirt material. Does anyone have any tips to make it go back to normal? Would trying to stretch it in the other direction make it even worse?

Really? I've never tried that before. May be worth a go if I can't fix it - thank you. It's all sold out now though so I won't be able to replace it :(

Oasis. I don't usually shop there but I got sucked in by the MN money saver email with 20% off Oasis dresses at Debenhams :)

It's not as bad as when DH accidentally put a merino wool Whistles dress in the wash - it's now being worn by a teddy bear!
