pink jeans...do you need to be really skinny?

I love the colour of these jeans...but fear what they may do to my thighs. Are they less flattering than dark-coloured skinnies, or is it all in my head?

yes you need to be skinny and no more then 12 years old.

VivaLeBeaver · 19/03/2012 16:41

One word - sausages.

salamanda · 19/03/2012 16:41

Thanks, but I will politely disagree with you about the 12 years old part...I love coloured jeans!

Yes, it's the sausage effect that I fear Sad

Stay clear, from a distance it'll look like you've forgotton to wear trousers and agree with Belgo.

salamanda · 19/03/2012 16:43

Shock I didn't even think of that Tyniclogs. That's worse than sausage legs!

dinkystinkyandveryverybored · 19/03/2012 16:44

Yes - you need very slender legs.

salamanda · 19/03/2012 16:45

What about if they were more this colour?

OP posts:
belgo · 19/03/2012 16:47

If you have legs like her, go for it.

worldgonecrazy · 19/03/2012 16:48

I think the darker pink colours are a little more flattering. From a distance they do look a bit like you've forgotten your trousers pale.

I disagree about skinny, I think overweight wouldn't look good, but average legs would be fine. I actually think that legs that are too skinny look horrible in very tight jeans - I saw a young woman in Oxford Street last week and I couldn't believe that she found jeans tight enough for her extremely skinny legs - they looked dreadful and emphasised her odd shape.

salamanda · 19/03/2012 16:50

But any fatter and it's sausage time, is that what you're saying belgo? I'm slim, but curvy, if that makes any sense at all.

OP posts:
belgo · 19/03/2012 16:50

It's a very hard look to pull off.

salamanda · 19/03/2012 17:02

Agree worldgonecrazy. Weirdly I see this more often on men than women, with the waistband half way down their bums and a thigh gap you could drive a bus through.

Have a look at the lavender jeans thread Mrs CB started a month or so ago. Iirc there were lots of good suggestions for how to make coloured jeans look more grown up. I wear rose coloured ones and like them a lot.

scarlettsmummy2 · 19/03/2012 17:32

I have just bought bright green skinny jeans. Haven't been brave enough to wear them yet, but plan on wearing with a nautical navy and white top and navy soft jacket thing.

salamanda · 19/03/2012 17:35

Thanks monkeys, I will have a look for the thread. I definitely don't think coloured jeans are just for kids any more, but will head for rose rather than pale pink...

You need skinny legs to wear those pink jeans.

PerryCombover · 19/03/2012 18:04

who is afraid of the big bad wolf?

noddyholder · 19/03/2012 18:07

I have had several coloured skinnies in the last few years and am mid 40s also white. Not a hard look to do can do t shirt and plimsolls for casual with jean jacket or wedges for a bit more going out.
