Touching up highlighted hair/roots at home, any advice?

I have golden highlights on mousy hair.

Wondered if anyone has good tips for a product that would allow me to touch up my roots in between going back to the hairdressers.

Finding the hairdressers just so £££ at the moment, plus I am 40 weeks pregnant and so could do with a quick home remedy.

Rubbish at beauty stuff (you should see me) so not that helpful am afraid - do you have a local visit at home bod that you could get to come round? Cheaper than salon prices.
